yeah I really just enjoy the throwback to old school slashers. it looked fun, I wasn't necessarily expecting to be super scared or anything. sometimes I feel like it's okay if a horror movie doesn't actually scare me as long as I enjoy myself and am convinced the characters themselves are scared.

Damn 2014 was loaded. Just out of the 5 movies they named, 3 are among my favorite movies of all time, and the other two are also good.

I guess that was about the time I got really into horror too

 

It's not a great movie, but if you have MoviePass or A-List or go on $5 day, I think it's worth your while.

 

Speaking of slashers, anybody seen Tragedy Girls? I thought it was a really fun sendoff of the genre.

It's such a good black comedy. I love the two stars in it too

JK, it’s the gratuitous violence. You can probably find the clips on youtube, it's primarily extended scenes of the corporate executive getting killed by the ED-209 and the shootout almost killing Murphy. Soooo many squibs going off.

 

50% of the time, this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Also, I've never seen Robocop. I need to change that. Watching The Brood tonight.

 

Lucio Fulci made better flicks than Dario Argento

 

I’ve seen too few of his movies. I really should change that this month.

 

Amazon has a number of them up for steaming, including City of the Living Dead and Zombie.

 

Nice. That makes it easy.

 

The Italian stuff is a blind spot for me. I've seen one movie each for Fulci (Zombie), Bava (Black Sunday), and Argento (The Bird With The Crystal Plumage)

And I can't say I remember much about any of them

 

Wow, The Brood was wild. I'm so glad I took a chance on Scanners and Videodrome during Barnes and Noble's Criterion sale. Cronenberg is one of my favorite directors of all time and likely my favorite director in the genre.

 

Didn't get to start my horror movie a day on Monday so I'm going to have to do a double feature soon to catch up. Started with my first ever viewing of Re-animator last night, so awesome.

The trailer for the Netflix Sabrina show is up. Looks a bit more light hearted than I was anticipating. Should still be a fun watch

 

Figured it would be light-hearted since isn't it a reboot of the TGIF show?

 

They said they were using more of the comics as source material than rebooting the old show. I haven’t read the comics, so I don’t know the tone of those. I just got the impression from all these websites it was going to be darker and more rooted in horror. Still looks good tho.

 

it definitely looks like it still has the darker and rooted in horror feel to it visually even with the playful music. this it's gonna be a good balance. great trailer. super excited.

i don't know where to begin! Hold the Dark wasn't really a horror but I felt all kinds of bad and wtf afterward
