Expanded my Blu-Ray horror collection specifically for this month at the weekend. Got Hellraiser, Slugs and Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

Shudder released a list of their additions on IG. Getting a lot of awesome stuff. I’m pumped.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but any recommendations on some not well known horror lite movies? I don't like anything too fucked up or disturbing.

    Some of my favorites:
    Halloween
    Poltergeist
    Fright Night
    Scream
    The Innkeepers
    Etc.

Not sure your take on gore but underrated movies I liked as a kid... The Gate, Lost Boys, Creepshow 1 and 2, Silver Bullet, Night of the Creeps, The Blob remake, Critters 2... it's been awhile since I've seen some of these and I had watched the edited for TV versions back then.

Nice, thanks. I loved Silver Bullet and Lost Boys as a kid, but haven't seen the others mentioned.

Seen all those, but that's about the level of scary I enjoy. I'm hearing I need to check out Trick R Treat.

That one is a little unconventional, but is probably at the level you are looking for. I personally love it.

Underrated up to a point, but Universal Studios is operating a house for it at Halloween Horror Nights now.

Finally getting the recognition it deserves, and probably, largely, due to Krampus.

    But yeah, it’s great :)

I think Krampus is fantastic, but I thought there was an underlying sense of disappointment from the horror community. Maybe I’m wrong about that.

I wouldn’t call Trick R Treat underrated. Maybe underseen by the masses. Sam has probably been the most prolific horror icon to come out recently. He’s all over the place for more than a few years now. I don’t know anyone that is a horror fan who doesn’t at least appreciate the movie.

I think The Gate is PG13 and it also features a young Stephen Dorff

I love nightmare on elm st so much I honestly can't handle it sometimes. All time fave movie. It's just so well done. It's like scream or halloween where I don't even like the saying of its a good horror movie like no it's a good movie period and should be on lists of great movies not just specific to horror

As a kid I had watched a couple of the sequels on TV until I saw the original. I remember late one night it aired on cable and TV Guide in its description called it “effectively scary,” which I never saw used to describe another movie. I had to turn it off when Nancy falls asleep and sees Tina in a body bag in the school... I did not sleep well that night.

So Hulu has Huluween and now I’m watching 28 Weeks Later. I’m in the minority where I prefer it over 28 Days. It has one of my favorite opening sequence of any film. I’m gonna try to watch a horror movie every night this month. Also, I’m reminded that Idris Elba, Rose Byrne and Jeremy Renner is in this.
