I know the Halloween timeline is confusing and some films take place erasing what happened in previous films but I’m watching H20 and there’s an article on the wall that says Laurie Strode died in a car crash, but she’s in the movie? That’s JLC’d character. Unless they explain it coming up why have an article on the wall say she died in a car crash yet she’s here?

Also I could have sworn this movie had Busta Rhymes in it but the opening credits say LL Cool J.

Guess I’ll find out shortly enough.

IIRC Laurie faked her death in case Michael came looking for her and changed her name.

Also Busta is in Halloween Ressurection

Finally caught Hereditary last night. I liked it more than I expected. The car scene messed me up for a few minutes.

After the original events of the Halloween night between the first two movies, the next time she’s referred to is Halloween 4. The workers transferring him while he’s comatose (since H2, about a decade) begin talking about his life, and one says that she died in a car accident. He also says she had a daughter beforehand who was adopted and still lives in Haddonfield. Mike conveniently had woken up and heard all this and that is the premise for the movie. He’s after her daughter.

In order to revamp the series and bring JLC back, they wrote it into the storyline of H20 that she faked her own death, went into hiding and started a new life and had another kid. Or her first kid and they ignore Jamie ever existed? That part always confuses me.

The writer/director said he was influenced by Psycho, where a major character was killed off early on. Aside from being a horror movie, Toni Collete does an excellent job as a mother struggling with losing a child

Interesting. Yeah Toni absolutely imo should be nominated for her performance.

Loved this movie. I don’t think I’ve seen a horror movie that relentless in awhile.

  17. I think Scanners was my first Cronenberg movie (or second after The Fly). I bought it and Videodrome at the same time. Bonkers stuff.

It is pretty damn good. I guess I feel like the whole human sacrifice as a gateway for evil thing has been done over quite a few times, but this felt like an original take and I was sucked in from the beginning.

Starting my Horror Movie Month a day early with Scream 1 and 2 since I read that they’ll be taking Scream 2 off Netflix tomorrow.

I just watched the original Halloween 2 after not seeing it for nearly 20 years. Not nearly as good is I remember and very 80s slasher by numbers.

That said: that therapy tub scene was very important to my upbringing.
