Wonder what the vote split is within the band on the two versions of Winter Solstice

 

the Smiths/Belle & Sebastian references tho omg

I need some help identifying those. where?

 

Also, I'd give my left arm to hear a version of Break on Through with an extended outro that picks up right where the album version leaves off if it built up to another heavy breakdown

 

I’ll have to catch up on everything later. I was asleep by 9:30.

 

The lyrics are on bandcamp which helps a fair bit, but both I caught were in New Wine New Skins:

first verse Aaron says "I wanted to write a sequel to the State That I Am In called New Wine New Skins", and later after that verse there's a line subtitled (from a Smiths fan) that references "you can pin and mount me like a butterfly", can't remember the exact wording

 

album is way hookier than either of these (great) songs imo

 

Can someone confirm the times for each track?

Just like Pale Horses this hits me hard upon 1st listen. I'm blown away.

After the slight disappointment with Palms (love it, but it's uneven); this sounds incredible. I'm excited to see how it'll grow with me in time.

I've mentioned it before, but Julia came out before I went on a trip to Alaska, and it always makes me remember huge mountaintops covered in clouds. The vibe actually works for the whole record so far, so I'm excited about that. Anyway, I'm on Dormouse and I don't know if I'm emotionally prepared for the onslaught I'm about to experience. That opener was something else.

 

I'm a Christian with a decent knowledge of the Old Testament, I can't imagine what some people's first impressions of these lyrics would be if they didn't have that background, haha.
