Just learned that the intro to Stockholm Syndrome was a letter written by Mark's grandfather to his grandmother during WWII. So cool. Didn't know if that was a well known fact or not.

 

I don't think it's quite hate. I feel like it's half just something that became fun to make fun of. The other half is just frustration with his actions the last 10 years. All the lying, quiting trough management, playing like shit, and just having a bit of an arrogant attitude about his "art." I don't hate the guy, like you said, I don't know him. He's just made some very poor PR choices the last 10 years.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. I felt like his demos were a throwback to boxcar with the good stuff from Ava. I really enjoyed both golden showers and circle jerk pit. Wonder if he wrote those for blink but it never went in.

 

I haven't seen much "vicious hate" towards him on here? Can't speak for the rest of the internet though. Most everybody in here still appreciates the music he made in blink, but recognize that his songwriting is super lackluster and recycled now and we're glad that we'll actually get to see a competent blink performance. Nobody begrudges him doing what he wants to do, now that he isn't holding back blink anymore.

 

Not sure if well known, and it's not physical album days anymore but had the cd in the day and has nice handwritten song notes about it

I don't think any of us here hate Tom. I listen to every single thing the man releases. I guess it's just that we dislike how he handled things and would much we'd rather have the guy performing and writing with blink like he always did, instead of half-assing it. But I'm not the one that's going to tell how someone should lead their lives.

 

Sorry, I'm still confused. There's only one acoustic show being streamed that we know of? The one on the 8th?

 

En route to the show in Kingston. So excited. I've seen them on every tour since '03, but I'm especially excited this time because it's acoustic, and the venue has a capacity of 900.

Will report back with set list, impressions, and any other tidbits.

Guys. Travis replied when I Snapchatted him lastnight... GASP!

I am going to LA this weekend to see The Matches and just hang out for a couple days, and so I asked him what I should eat at Crossroads (that restaurant he always talks about) and he wrote back with all his suggestions, haha. There was a lot. And since I'm an idiot and can't turn off my dad joke switch, I replied back and said, "Wow, I'm gonna have to not eat anything else for the rest of the week so I'm hungry enough to order all of that. I'll save you a seat. Thanks for the pro-tips!" And then he said, "Yessuh!" I am still in shock, haha.

So now I definitely have to hit up Crossroads while I'm there. And I will definitely Snapchat Travis again when I am en route (in case he wants to join me, haha) and/or while I'm there eating some of the things he recommended.

People say they're done with Tom, are so glad he's gone, etc. – then keep bringing him up and analyzing every single thing he does.

 

I thought he actually partly owned crossroads or something.

 

Barely anybody in here has discussed his current doings though? Seen a couple people say they don't hate his EP and I think that's about it? That's why a Tom Delonge thread exists on this site. Love people trying to start shit about Tom lol.

The main thing I've said is good riddance to his live performances. Nobody can deny they were utter shit and a slap in the face to people paying to watch. I wish him well though! He's doing what he loves, honestly good for him.
