Honestly, it's not the end of the world that they switched them, but I paid $130 for this, and the fact that I'm not getting what I paid for, or what they advertised, means I will be asking for something from them to make it right.

 

Here's some more photos of it on the turntable. It's still a beautiful pressing regardless. Sounds identical to the EU release. I'll test the 180g later.

Yeah, any disappointment I might have that it turned out not to be the Wax Mage version is easily overcome by the fact that this one looks way better than the vomit splatter one.

Probably because everyone was led to believe it was. I thought the same until I saw the image dead_fm posted.

 

I didn't get my bundle yet, but I bought bundle 1 specifically to get the Wax Mage. I'll be pretty upset if I don't.

 

Honestly, I've been scouring the internet this morning, and can't remember where I read it. But @thebrainroom is probably correct in that they were probably misinformed and basing it off of the assumption that they received the record as advertised.

 

well, i sent KRM another email and included the wording that was originally attached to each bundle. At this point I just want my records but if they were switched after ordering and we weren't notified, I want some compensation.

 

Let us know what they say.

I plan to do the same if that is truly the case.

 

I've been doing some hunting to see what the OG descriptions were on the bundles.

Bundle 1:

– Thrice – Palms Deluxe LP (Wax Mage)

Hand made Wax Mage clear vinyl with red, white and black color stripe

Epitaph Store exclusive – limited to only 100 copies!

Bundle 2:

This bundle includes:

– Thrice – Palms DeluxeLP(OG Splatter)

OG splatter with album colors

Epitaph Store exclusive – limited to only 100 copies!

So the question is... what do you count as "stripes" and "splatter". Because the colours for Bundle 1 are definitely red, white and black.

 

I have a weird pseudo FOMO thing going on.

On the one hand, the two vinyls I’ve seen looked really cool and I’m sad I didn’t opt for one of the rarer vinyls. On the other, I’d be stressing like mad if I wasn’t sure which version I was getting. Even if both look cool, I’d be pissed if there was a mix up because then I’d certainly desire the other one more haha.

 

Wait, Bundle 1 and 2 come with slipmats?

Huh. I guess that's what I get for having never actually been on the item page (because KRM crashed hard), and somehow ending up with a link with Bundle 1 already in my cart and finished the order from there.

 

I just have to say... I'm in love with these lines. Might actually be my absolute favorites on the record.

Yeah, what appears to have come with bundle 1 looks like the original description of the Wax Mage to me. The other one looks like an "OG splatter" as best as I can interpret the meaning of that.
