just set it so your profile is not discoverable then delete the app, basically the same effect as deleting the profile but you can always come back to it later on

 

I've done this as well. My problem is I hit a point where I'm like "dating apps aren't my thing, I'm going to do something different". Never do anything different, get lonely, get back on, rinse and repeat.

At this point I've just resigned myself to the fact I'm an idiot...

Lol, what I mean is that I didn’t just delete off my phone or deactivate. I actually wiped my profile from existence and it has deterred me from returning. One night I was drunk and thought about downloading it again but then I realized it would mean creating an entirely new profile and the thought was exhausting enough to keep me from actually doing it

I mean I have been just trying to get this friend to hang out with me and even then it has been very hard to do so. That is exactly why I feel like I can't even mention it for a while without out having the "he is using me for a girl"

I messaged this (what I thought was a) cute girl whose name was Barry (bit weird of a name but didn't think much of it). I messaged her with "do you get a lot of name-based puns on here, it's the first thing that comes to mind but I'm trying to be a better man this year". She replied with "I thought of one", and I asked what, and she said "I bet you could give me barry good dick". didn't reply cuz I mean, obviously a catfish, and she unmatched me lol. it's just weird, I mean, what's the end goal of someone doing that. the pics and bio were very normal too, nothing you'd normally associate with a catfish like overly sexual or suggestive so now I'm just wondering if this is something some dudes do to just fuck around and it's so weird.
