We Need to Talk about Kevin was alright. I wish it had explored more why Kevin was the way he was. there were very slight hints of it, but they were out of character for the relevant characters and seemed half baked.

Is this going to be a single movie or miniseries? I can't imagine fitting an 1,100 page book into a single feature film.

I haven't read the book, so I don't know how the series deviated. But the whole second half was just such a let down. The characters were rather boring. The acting was beyond terrible. And the final battle with Pennywise was ridiculous I just don't think it'll take much to vastly improve on what Pennywise has to offer in a horror film. Tim Curry was terrifying and played the part perfect.

I never saw the original besides parts when it was airing on tv. I do own it on vhs now though

Yeah it would vastly improve if they followed the book, haha. There's so much lore to Pennywise they completely avoided. The final battle specifically is like this epic cosmic battle and they just took one little part (the spider) and ran with that.

And yeah Tim Curry was perfect. I don't know if it was just an internet thing or ever a serious consideration but there were talks of Tilda Swinton as Pennywise and I liked that idea

I thought it was supposed to be a two parter, one movie for the kid portion and one for the adult portion.

It will be a two part film.

I really don't have high hopes for it right now, but Jaeden Lieberher from Midnight Special will be the lead (Bill Denbrough) in the first film...so that's pretty good news.

If they whiff on Pennywise though, it could ruin the whole thing.

So I'm watching my Blu Ray copy of The Thing and I can see where improvements can be made in the transfer. The transfer I'm watching now is a bit dark.

I love The Conjuring so I'm really excited about this one. Although, I did watch The Enfield Haunting when it was on BBC America last October and was underwhelmed by the story; hopefully The Conjuring 2 will tell it better

    Regular

The Enfield Haunting had a pretty amazing and super creepy first episode. The other two parts went down hill though.

Wan will do a much better job no doubt.

    Eat Snickers, leave garbage.

This insane first-pitch showdown between Sadako from The Ring and Kayako from The Grudge happened this week in the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan. Those mascots only add to the craziness. It was a promotion for the upcoming movie.

I gotta say as a Yankees fan, right now I'd take either of these two on the team anyday.

My buddy won a costume contest last Halloween making a Smiley mask. Got a $100 gift card to my favorite brewery. The director of the movie even liked the photo on Instagram haha.

it was one of the greatest movies i have ever seen. there's even a spiel about how 4chan's motto "for the lulz" exhibits the ultimate nihilism

just watched Jessabelle. wasn't very good but it reminded me of how we need more voodoo movies. the bathtub scene was pretty good but otherwise it was pretty by the numbers.

i was also super disappointed when i realized the main character wasn't Deb from Napoleon Dynamite

    I'm Back.

Watched a little movie called Before I Wake starring Thomas Jane. About a family that loses there child (drowned in tub) and they adopt another kid about the same age.

Shit get crazy because the premise is the kids dreams become reality to anyone around him while he's dreaming. For example, he is dreaming of butterflies, so in the living room there are a shit load of butterflies floating around.

It was a decent enough flick, especially when his dreams turned into nightmares. The monster in his dream is finally realized and the story behind it is quite sad and hit me right in the feels (I have kids around his age).

Any slasher films from the last 15 or so years worth checking out?
