I can’t remember the last time I connected my phone to my Mac haha

So my Max gets here tomorrow. Maybe this is a dumb question but do I need to do a full wipe of my old phone before turning on and setting up my Max? Not really sure if by activating the new one it will deactivate my old one automatically or if i need to back up/wipe my old one before I even turn on the Max.

 

No you can just boot up the new one, log into your iCloud account and it’ll set up your phone to your latest backup if you use iCloud. I highly recommend that route - setup and backup to iCloud today/tonight if you don’t have that done already. That way your new phone will just set itself up. In the past I’ve had to call my carrier (T-Mobile) to activate my new device. Then you can wipe your old one.

 

I got a date of 10/2 for mine to arrive but got confirmation it’s on it’s way and it’ll be here tomorrow. Pumped. Good thing I ordered that case.

 

Does anyone use Wireless charging primarily? Ive never used it on my 8 but interested in it now since all my cables usually get mangled.

 

I exclusively use it at work and at home. I love it so freaking much.

 

My Watch and Phone come tomorrow. Excited. Still need to buy a case and figure out the best Qi charger. I always meant to get one over the last year, just never pulled the trigger.

 

I currently only have a wireless charger on my nightstand because overnight is the only time I can leave it long enough to get a decent charge. Wireless charging is not nearly as fast as I’d like it to be, for quick charge needs I still plug in.

it's great because you can charge it in portrait or landscape mode - my wife puts her X in landscape mode before bed to watch a movie to help her fall asleep

 

oh no I totally get - sorry if my post came off as judge-y - it was more of just like I am so dependent on the cloud and I don't use dongles

 

I don't think any of the phones can charge more than 7.5w right now so that's the max for every one I believe

 

Was there a range of dates for your initial delivery? Mine was sept28-oct 5 and hearing stories like yours where people are getting early delivery dates so hoping that’s the case for me too.

 

I was literally gonna ask the same question. I'm quoted for the same time frame, but I'm wondering when everyone else ordered theirs?

 

I only plug in when I’m in the car and I just bought a CD mount Qi charger so I’ll very rarely ever charge with a cable after thaT comes in. I’m wireless on my nightstand and my desk at work already. I use this one:

Yeah mine was Sept 26th - Oct 2nd. I usually think the latter date is more realistic, but pleasantly surprised.

 

what brand CD slot mount one do you use?
