I wish Thrice music was deceptively simple.

I keep waiting for this to grow on me more. It hasn't yet. I mean, I really do like it. I'm just shocked that I don't love it, especially when almost everyone here seems to. It really sounds terrific, especially through headphones. I think it's the songs themselves that just don't stand out to me in relation to a lot of their past work. It's like a playground of experimentation where a lot of cool things are happening, but it doesn't amount to anything super exciting for me. And the flow of the album is still jarring for me. I don't know. I have no desire to stop listening so I might take all of this back tomorrow.

Also, why does this comment read like a cheesy 50's sitcom. That was not my intention.

    It's absolutely my aoty.

Was going to say Manchester Orchestra's Black Mile To The Surface would beat it, but I forgot that was 2017.

    I do not exist.

Yes, it’s a very odd situation where the only album until Palms that I’d bought was Major/Minor despite listening to many bands associated with them since around 2003! I do also own Carry The Fire and Dustin’s Christmas record. I never fully got into Carry The Fire but I might appreciate it more these days.

Beggars and Vhiessu are now on the list. I want to really dive into Palms for the time being though!

I recommend listening to Carry the Fire via the YouTube tracks with Dustin’s commentary. Really adds a lot to each song.

You had two chances to write Daedalus, and you fucked up both times. Shame. On. You.

    Daedalus is good, but overrated.

Incorrect. But I’ll allow you this one pass.

  20. On the real “are you ready for my soul” is an intense q. Like I’ve been in a relationship for 10 years and I’m pretty sure if I asked her that she’d be like “haha woah buddy I think we need to slow things down”

Just spent the last hour+ reading the thrice thread while listening to Vheissu and Palms and trying swaying back and forth trying to get my daughter to fall asleep for her afternoon nap.

Then I realized there are literally billions of threads on literally billions of albums that I’ll never have the time to read about or listen to.

    Kinda fucks You up.

I'm just not great at keeping up to date with new music, I think UnderOath's Erase Me and this album are the only new albums I've listened to this year tbh. Or I do find music that is new to me, but not new to others, like MO's discography I've been getting into lately and Thrice's older stuff
