Sucks when it’s so obvious. I get that they have to make a living and pay writers. But now I’m not exactly trusting I’m going to get unbiased opinions on the show. Oh well. Not that anything would have dissuaded me from seeing it anyway.

I’ll say this for now: I’ve seen a lot of weird movies in my time. I’ve seen everything from Liquid Sky to The Holy Mountain to Gummo to The Boxer’s Omen, but I’ve never seen anything like that movie before....ever

Wait they seriously did not make her a younger version of the same character?
Why cast *her* specifically then? That just seems like a completely wasted opportunity.

If any of you are in need of a good podcast for the season, Jim Harold's Campfire is A LOT of fun. People call in to share their paranormal/spooky experiences.

Mandy isn’t playing in any theaters around me :( :( :(

Hopefully it hits on demand. Or looks like I’ll be driving to Sacramento to see it.

Mandy definitely has some issues, but more than makes up with it in holy shit moments and some incredible technical achievements. Nic Cage is great and Linus Roache kind of blew me away, did not expect that from him. Loved the older couple next to me that, even though they watched the trailer, wasn't expecting it to be "so out there."

First time at an Alamo Drafthouse too... life-changing.

My first time at an Alamo Drafthouse was in Denver, Colorado to see Spider-Man Homecoming. such a great experience. there's one opening up in Manhattan which is exciting but realllly wish there was a Philly one, I'd go there all the time.

much like Hereditary, Mandy gives me hope for movies in the future. in a world of superhero movies, remakes and sequels, someone made a passion project like that and it worked. it feels like a fully realized vision to me and I almost can’t believe anyone let him make that and I got to see it

Definitely liked it more than I didn't, that's for sure. I would've cut a little bit of the excess if I'm being honest (e.g. when Mandy is drugged and meets Jeremiah, though some incredible stuff happens then [see below]).

But holy shit, I cannot stop thinking about when they break into the house to take them, when they'd merge Mandy and Jeremiah's faces and so much more.
