While uploading all of these bootlegs, I started listening to this one. Listen to this version of "Josie" they did! haha. They sang with Australian accents or something...

Based on absolutely nothing I’ll make a theory:
The Australian media asked Tom why he sings like an Adam Sandler character (a very 90s thing to say, maybe?) and so after the interview when they were tapped to play a song, they decided to do overblown Tom/Sandler voices. Again, based on nothing but probably a very “them” thing to have done at the time. (Read: “toime”)

One of the earliest/rare live versions of "Anthem"

 

Didn't think I'd be enjoying these bootlegs as much as I have been.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it may be the only live recording of Anthem other than the short snippet in a video from ESPN/X Games that came out around Enema's release. They didn't play Anthem very often.

I remember I saw Mark give a talk at university and he said there was a show in Australia or New Zealand right after they'd recorded TOYPAJ which was a complete trainwreck because they decided they didn't need to rehearse the new songs.

I want to hear THAT bootleg.

 

looks like i have an Australian bootleg from 2001, but the only TOYPAJ song on it is "When You Fucked Grandpa" so this surely isn't the one Mark referenced. i'll see if i can track down any others though. that'd be a fun one to hear, for sure, haha.

 

Watching stuff on YouTube and watching things about +44 and I’ve never really saw any interviews with them so thought this would be interesting then 4:23 comes and lol
