The Grey has my favorite riff of theirs since Fire

Edit: I forgot about Yellow Belly but The Grey still rips

 

Well if nothing else, "A Branch In The River" to "Beyond The Pines" would be a jarring yet clear indicator of the album's diversity early on haha.

 

Actually thinking on it: "A Branch In The River" would be a sick opener so that wouldn't be all bad.

 

Do any of you know how alphabetizing by title works? The tracklisting would actually be pretty cool/interesting:

Everyone should be able to agree the lyrics here are much better than TBEITBN. The lyrics to "Blood on Blood" so good

 

At least so far, I’d disagree. I loved the directness of Dustin’s lyrics on songs like Blood on the Sand and Death from Above

 

I can understand that, but I don't think there's anything here that's hard to decipher, I find it pretty direct just more eloquently put.

 

I can't help but think people are underrating Riley's drumming on this record already. It's a little lower in the mix compared to Everywhere but no less fantastic. Just listen to him on Beyond The Pines, heavenly.

 

To me this seems more in the mix. Maybe just bc the guitars are so much lower

Nah it'd be more like "Thrice just copied The Used" or something like that.

 

Awesome, hopefully it all goes well in the end, wonder when will get these things

 

This is my favorite Thrice album since Alchemy.

 

there are going to be so many cell phone flashlight apps waving in the air for "Hold Up a Light" if they ever play it live

 

They should just release their own Hold Up a Light app for that purpose.

 

The first thing I noticed on the drums is how they focused on getting a big kick drum to accentuate the grooves

 

The comments on in exile (fb community group, one I even respected) are scary. Fans really hating this album.

 

Where's the RAWK, Thrice? Where the shredders, bros? What's wit dis harp sheet?

Which I was iffy on my first listen and now I’m sort of obsessed with it

 

I’m about to.. I loved that group for a long time but they are unhinged

 

I've recorded in three of the world's finest studios with Grammy-winning producers in charge of each, and I'm perfectly fine with the production. Also: The Internet knows nothing about production.
