Oh... lol Riot Fest will be my 4th time seeing them in 2 years. I guess I didn't realize they just play around here a little more.

I'm actually excited to see a few minutes of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Right. Maybe I'm alone in this, but they were one of those bands that I was excited to check out as part of a big festival. Like I probably wouldn't pay $30+ to see just them but they were one of those bands I was excited to "check off," so to speak.

Oh no I get exactly what you mean. I even said to my friend this morning that I was bummed about the Front Bottoms conflict even though we are seeing them at Concord, because I wanted to see them in this setting.

But honestly I would not probably even go to the aftershow if it weren't for friends wanting to go, so I get ya completely. There's really only a handful of songs I really care about.

I really didn't have any plans on going to this but I just bought a Sunday ticket. Don't know if I'll get to see The Audition again, The Dangerous Summer have always been one of my fav bands, been meaning to see Incubus for a little while now, I'm off on Sunday, weather looks like it's gonna be good.... kind of the perfect storm of events there lol

If I arrive to Radicals Stage on sunday since Spitalfield set, do you think I can get a barricade spot for The Wodner Years?

I wanted to do that for getting close with Weeer! but I really want to see Flogging Molly

I think you’ll be good. It’s a big stage, plenty of bands that both will have crowd movement during the set and then with people coming and going. I’ve done stage camping before and unless it’s a band with a big cult or fandom following you should be fine showing up a couple acts before for barricade

I camped last year for Paramore becasue I knew the fans are like that, but I don't know if Bad Religion fans of The Wonder Years fans that kind of fandom and I really want to see Calpurnia

I've seen Cypress Hill 5 times already so I'd much rather watch full sets from Young the Giant and Weezer. Also I like Atmosphere but I've never seen Bleachers before. Can't say I've heard of Digital Planets but I'll definitely check them out later!

And still, 4 hip hop acts on the bill isn't a lot considering one of them is the headliner and the rest are spread out across three days.

Aquabats win that matchup every single time.

I've seen an overwhelming amount of people complaining about the Alk3 and TWY conflict everywhere today. I doubt they will change it but man I'd be happy lol

Agreed. Maybe I'll tweet them and let em know.

I think you're underestimating Run the Jewels' cross-genre draw. They're a pretty popular act among rock fans (as far as I can tell), and they've played plenty of other festivals that are largely pop/rock/indie in close-to-headlining slots...

I'm honestly surprised they aren't headlining a day of hip-hop on the one stage on Friday, but I think they'll do just fine on Sunday evening (even if they are the lone hip-hop act that day).

I swear to god if they change it and I have to choose between TWY and Blondie I'm going to fight each and every one of you stop whining

(I honestly have no idea when or how I became so adamant about seeing Blondie)

Do any festivals do this? Haha. The only instance I can recall (and it's only happened once) was one particular day at Boston Calling like, two years ago. But they bumped set times on one stage back like, 25 minutes to try and minimize conflict between certain acts because the fans were all griping about it.

But Boston Calling only has three stages (and a lot of acts who aren't necessarily touring in a bus--but rather flying in for the festival).

I feel like with something like Riot Fest, it gets harder to shift schedule times, days, etc. and such because a lot of bands are in the middle of a tour with other dates around it. Which kind of locks them in.

I'd be fine with a change as well, has anything like that ever happened before?

I remember last year they slightly changed things around with Paramore and Jawbreaker (?)

Also someone said earlier in the thread they did it a few years ago but I don't remember haha
