Dude your stories always fascinate me to no end and make me incredibly excited to be in Europe eventually. I’m not too familiar with Meetup but it’s generally designed for finding friends, correct?

 

There's an update to my already weird weekend.

There's a lady I've been chatting to for a bit. She comes along to a few of the social things I'm involved with. The back story with her is that I sent her a message on Match at the start of the year and she responded to say we could be friends, but that she just wouldn't be romantically interested in me.

So, recently, we've been talking quite a lot, but I thought in a friendly sense. I told her about what happened last night and joked around in terms of what I was going to say to this Italian girl to ask her on a date. Her response was that if she turns me down, she'll take me out for drinks. I made a joke about pity drinks, at which point she said that she just happens to like spending time with me and took a swipe at me for playing hard to get.

So yeah, I think that in the process of asking one person on a date, someone else asked me on one.

Yeah. Generally, you're considered a bit of a shit bag if you go to a normal Meetup (a non-dating based one) and start bothering people.

Tbh, I look back on my own tales and just wonder how the hell I consistently end up with some bizarre outcome.

My boyfriend gets along with my family so well. Everything about his trip has been even better than either of us could ever expect, and we still have a few more days together! I’m just really dreading the day he goes back home (Saturday)

ya it's definitely a lot slower than tinder. works for me rn though cuz I don't have to feel obligated to message people I match with since girls have to message first on bumble. hard part is I think a lot of them aren't used to having to be the ones to open conversations so I get a lot of "hey"s and "how are you"s which are just dead-end openers.

 

Bumble’s aura is also like a bunch of 20 year olds sitting around a campfire listening to Mumford and Sons in a Nature Valley commercial.
