I remember reading Jurassic Park in fifth grade and there's mention that Alan Grant has a case of beer in their trailer, and that's when I decided that one day I would be a beer drinker

And then I didn't try it until I was 19

 

I've been drinking coffee for far too long considering my age. I've been drinking it black for years and I think that allowed me to enjoy IPAs more since I can palette bitter things.

 

To bring it back to dating, later in my 20's, I tried to not have dates at bars. I've had a few dates in which the person proceeded to get blackout drunk. It was pretty frightening.

 

That sounds like an awful first impression.

 

I'm afraid of getting food stuck in my teeth on a date let alone getting blackout drunk

 

I feel like I haven't really "dated", or at least in the usual sense that people do. Probably has to do with my age. Like, if I'm gonna meet up with someone, I've already talked to them for a while and it's more of "hey we like each other let's finally meet up and hangout for the day".

 

I mean, there is that, but there is an obligation to make sure they'd get home safely and I was always scared of what might happen to them after I sent them home in a cab or something. And also, I was called the "f" word for refusing to engage in sexual intercourse with someone that was far too drunk. Anymore, I'm glad I don't drink or hang out in those places.

 

I haven't really dated outside of college. It was always easy someone would just ask someone else to go to coffee or whatever after class. Now as an adult idek how it'd go lol.

Although the worst guy move I feel is always "so what do you like to do for fun?" Omg I want to kill that question and chop it up into pieces and burn it

 

I hate to admit it but as much as I dislike being alone I find a weird comfort in it. Sorta like the enjoyment I get from sad music, idk I've never been able to properly articulate it.

 

I don't know how to talk to guys. Downside of guys never wanting to date me or give me a chance

 

I knew dates were over when "So..." became the feature of every sentence. At that point you're searching for something that isn't to be found.

 

ah yes, I had that recently. really awkward when you have to search for conversation

 

ya adult dating sounds terrible. Everyone's kind of on the same page in college too so there's less variance in what you can expect with the person.

 

i can't imagine how college would have been like if we had tinder back then. i would definitely assume everyone would be looking for hookups

I mean, Craig's List casual encounters, despite it being frightening.

 

most just want someone they can hit up for casual sex. I guess like a fwb type situation but not necessarily a hookup

 

the best way I can describe it is like an anonymous twitter where you post something and everyone in that location sees it and can comment, up vote or down vote

 

how do people hookup on that? or better yet--why would people want to hookup with someone that way?

 

yik yak sucks. It's more or less what you'd expect to see on a medium that anonymously gives voice to whomever on politically charged places such as college campuses.

 

I have no idea. I just remember people posting about looking for hookups and people commenting saying they're down and where to meet (like dorm rooms and bathrooms etc), as well as people saying they've hooked up off the app (although you can't believe everything people say).

its like a messenger/text message app. I made an account and deleted because I never used it plus it never worked on my home internet and didnt work using my data

 

I kinda figured that but I wasn't sure. I almost always see it mentioned online or on apps in context of people trying to hookup so I thought maybe there was something special about it. like couldn't snapchat be used for the same thing. or whatsapp.
