I was hoping it'd be received better but I'm pretty sure i'll still end up having fun with it. just hope it doesn't make them second guess continuing with the conjuring universe cause I think there's so much potential for more stories even if not all of them are considered great.

I mean I’m not expecting It Follows or Raw with The Nun. Wasn’t planing on seeing it in theaters anyways, but just like Annabelle it will be a fun night with the wife/on demand.

Rewatching it several years ago and weird seeing Phil Dunphy in it

  4. Re-watched The Conjuring movies in anticipation for tonight. Those movies are still great. I think people weren't as keen on the sequel, but it has so many great set pieces. I love it.

Not expecting too much from The Nun, but at least it's a short movie comparatively.

I'm super stoked for Are You Afraid of the Dark. though it sounds like it will be one story? I feel like that movie should be an anthology and have 3 or four stories told by members of the midnight society. still, interested to see how they do it.

but I completely agree, horror for kids coming back, awesome. also, Courage fucked me up hahah, loved it though.

Something I’ve been dying to talk about all week- we did an episode with writer/director Stephen Cognetti about Lake Mungo and his 2015 film HeLL House LLC/it’s planned sequel!

I haven't seen the remake or read the book, but that's definitely the feeling I got from the original movie

Haha I did not ask that because I’m just excited to see what else happens. I believe the sequel is more of a prequel about the hotel itself.

Not sure why people are shocked that a Conjuring spin off isn't getting rave reviews.
The pattern so far has been that the first one is ho-hum, but still makes a ton of money then they get a better director for the sequel and everyone loves it again.

  19. I thought The Nun was decent. The scares are standard fare and don't have the creativity of the Conjuring movies, but it's a brisk 90min, the Nun is still creepy looking af, and I loved the castle setting. Nothing amazing, but not garbage either.

I rarely hate movies but I’m pretty sure I hated the Nun. For a horror movie it was so boring. Very little scares. I think what annoys me the most is all the wasted potential. The set designs were gorgeous and all, but meh. I just wanted it to end. And I’ve loved all the Conjuring movies so far, even the first Annabel was fun. Oh well.
