I've heard that Matt Thiessen (Relient K) is pretty wealthy because of his writing. Some known and some ghost writing.

I mean "One Of Those Nights" was an absolute jam

 

i loved most of that record tbh, haha. that whole scene was what i was into when they got big, and they were amongst my favorites of those bands (along with every avenue)

 

Why don't you like Reddit? (I mean, I can guess some reasons, but I find it to be a pretty interesting place).

 

It's got some interesting stuff, but like there is so much toxic hate filled stuff that happens on that site I just get dragged down by it.

 

The disdain on here for the subreddit just reeks of elitist bullshit.

 

I like the complaining about a message board on an even more obscure message board. Chorus should have never changed over from AP, it's the exact same hipster attitude.

I can just image you typing this out over your cup of French pressed coffee and a cigarette.

 

I like Reddit.

Granted I spend all my time on there joking around on r/nfl but I like Reddit.

I do like Chorus tremendously more though.

You know. A subreddit dedicated to Brand New where the subscribers really love the band.

 

Yeah, I understand that. I think in many ways, it's a pretty decent microcosm of dominant culture. That can obviously be pretty disturbing at times. I'd study the hell out of it if I was a sociologist. Subreddits such as r/theredpill, r/the_donald, etc., are ridiculous.

 

Trolling is completely different than sitting over here bitching about them. You'll also see posts where I say I love the trolls because it's fun as hell to watch everybody freak out and dig for the most minuscule clue. I've also said no other band ever will elicit such wild goose chases even if they're not involved. And making fun of they're excitement? Try again.

 

Oh but not r/shitredditsays and the almighty FEMPIRE?

I wouldn't say that necessarily - and I don't really have an issue with conservative politics. It's the misogyny and racism that really bothers me. I don't frequent the red pill sub enough to comment too much on it, but what I've seen has been pretty gross, and I think it breeds a lot of hate. One of my students frequents the hell out of that place and the kid is disturbed. r/shitredditsays is ridiculous too.

 

We drink tea filtered through imported honeycomb, and smoke cigars here. None of this peasantry related to coffee and cigarettes

Yeah, it's odd right? I mean, those places become echo chambers and it just kind of breeds some pretty dangerous ideology. I don't want to generalize the user base since I don't have the information, but I gotta imagine a lot of those guys have a pretty deep rooted hate for women because of rejection. Idk. Such a gross part of reddit.

 

I pretty much stick to r/asoiaf, r/Astros, r/baseball, r/cfb, r/guns, and r/brandnew

I unsubbed from pretty much all defaults and it vastly improves the Reddit experience.

 

Oh yeah r/cfb is good too

And r/Texans is really fun during the season
