They’re just so mewithoutYou-lite that I’m not interested in delving further into anything last the one album I heard of theirs.

 

They’re the La Croix mewithoutYou.

 

I would take 'Wildlife' over every other mewithoutYou release except 'Brother, Sister'

 

non descript instrumentals and a truly awful vocalist + cringe lyrics

 

The quality of La Dispute reminds me of the EP’s before [A->B] Life.

 

I am NOT here for the bad La Dispute takes.

 

I’m sorry, it’s so blatantly trying to be mewithoutYou that it makes me feel embarrassed for them.

Maybe Somewhere At the Bottom but I don't think Wildlife or Rooms sound like anything MWY has done.

What the fuck does non descript even mean? You ever listen to old MWY? Those are cringy too.

 

I just listened to the first song on “Wildlife” and it sounds like it could have been on the “I Never Said I Was Brave” EP, in a bad way.

 

Listen to Edward Benz 27 Times, King Park, 35, For Mayor in Splitsville, and the Woman songs from Rooms of the House.

 

If you listen to Rooms and only hear mewithoutYou light, I don't think you actually listened to it beause that's just not accurate at all. I forgot that mwY are the only band allowed to be in that style

 

I hate old MWY too

LD never have interesting instrumentals. theyre very boring musically.

 

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with bands loving mewithoutYou and wanting to do their own spin on it. It doesn’t mean that you’re not allowed to dislike them.

I’m listening to some other stuff mentioned on this page and it sounds like a bad attempt at trying to be them.

 

Good for you. It's like both bands wrote cringy lyrics on there first couple releases but then went on to be considered some of the best lyricists in the genre but only one gets a pass 10-15 Yeats after the fact.

this just isn't true at all.. like even the "spoken word style" is very very different, the guitars and writing over all are very different as well.

 

Different in that it’s bad and mewithoutYou is good.
