Go in and ask for Blow. If they give you the movie, they’re legit.

Yeah I'd maybe not go on now..... Hahaha. That's one strong store to survive the new eras if so.

    Re: Mandy

Holy shit had no idea that was Cage until his name popped up (would have known when he spoke otherwise though). Looks like a lot of ideas running through that trailer so I worry it could be a jumbled laughable mess. Very interested to see it though. Hope the animation part was just in the trailer and not the final film. That seemed way out of place.

Maybe you get a doobie with each video rental. Maybe that’s the cover for it.

I don’t think anything about it will be “laughable” but I can understand the concern. most reviews I have seen for it have called it brilliant. here’s probably my favorite so far: Sundance: “Mandy” Is One of the Strangest, Saddest Films You’ll See

There were brief moments where I got the feel of other films I really enjoy but seem to have a small, devoted following. Ones where you either get it or you don’t, which I could see happening here. And the “laughable” would be the folks who don’t get it that just give it shit for being different and not connecting with them. How it looks and the cinematography certainly isn’t laughable though!

I wonder how wide the release is. Also never heard of the director before and that opening card made it seem like he’s a well known big deal, but I’m probably just out of the loop.

That is the only other movie he has written and directed. I haven’t seen it yet though so I can’t say anything about it.

How'd you catch it so early?

I watched the trailer. Seems right up my ally, though I do not forget my last excursion into horror with Nicolas Cage.

  12. I saw Mandy when it was at Sundance last winter. I’ve been dying to see it again ever since. I absolutely loved it. It’s insane in all the best ways.

BTBR is good (albeit a little too on the nose with the Kubrick worship) right up until the last few minutes and then it just spits in the face of any goodwill it created up until that point, but I blame the studio for that because there’s no way in hell any director wanted that ending. it’s a gorgeous film tho

pretty sure the director funded most of the movie himself (with his father’s films royalties) so i’m pretty sure that’s the ending he wanted lol

They were on Starz but aren't anymore.
Maybe they got moved to Hulu because I don't see them on Prime, Netflix or anywhere else I have an account.

I watched Murder Party again. That movie has found a campy little spot in my heart very quickly.
