Can't wait for the inevitable Reddit thread where somebody believes this post to be evidence that Pitchfork has purchased Riot Fest, and that Blink-182 has cancelled along with all of the other bands they don't list on the Pitchfork posting.

Except Elvis Costello. Because it's confirmed that he's not performing due to lack of information.

 

Apparently that Brendan Kelly show at the GMan is nearly sold out (14 tickets left, as per Twitter). Now I'm annoyed I don't know what other after shows are going on, haha.

 

That Pitchfork email made me laugh. Is this how bad it's become?

 

If you told me Pitchfork used a proprietary algorithm to select that version of the lineup I would 100% believe you

 

That Pitchfork email also mentions "The Pussy Riot," which could launch a debate along the lines of "Smashing Pumpkins"/"The Smashing Pumpkins" (or "Arcade Fire"/"The Arcade Fire" or "Ramones"/"The Ramones")

I always hated it with "The." I only recently started hating them regardless of the name format.

 

Seems like considerate email promotion from rival Pitchfork festival attempting to highlight to their readers what artists appearing at Riot Fest they might be interested in purchasing tickets to see

 

I kept hoping that Jawbreaker Reunion band was going to play Riot Fest last year. They had already changed their name, but still...

I feel like there's enough overlap between the two for it to make sense to cross-promote... And to do so without majorly stepping on any toes.

 

I'm just wondering how long I wait before asking for a press coverage update. Any suggestions?

Entered! Who are we thinking the headliner is this year? Looking at the line-up, I'd put my money on Cobra Skulls, Direct Hit!, or the Bomb Pops. But I'd guess the Bomb Pops are a bit too small...

Still kicking myself for being "too tired" last year and "needing to sleep" so I "didn't die before Jawbreaker got on-stage."

 

I would love to see the Bombpops or Beach Rats (rumored 2nd wave based on them posting and deleting an Instagram post about playing on sunday).
