I've gotten a few e-mails now from the various DO(insert area code here) mailing lists I've found myself on over the years with a Riot Fest VIP fly away trip...

I know a free trip can be a "drop everything" sort of scenario, but it's really cutting it close even with a free trip for somebody being able to go.

Probably. A lot of people go to aftershows instead of the festival.

    Give what you can.

Looks like The Weather Channel leaked the temps for the fest this year. Gonna be 80ish. Nice.

I tried but it was taken down super fast. Now it just leads to a dead link.

Rahm Emanuel is not running for re-election.....is this causing the Riot Fest delay?

I doubt anything lineup related will be announced at the Sox game. I mean I guess if they wanted to troll people or something, but the Sox already have low attendance and I doubt a lot of people there care about Riot Fest. Maybe if they did this promotion at Wrigley, but they aren’t prestigious enough to do a promotion at Wrigley.

I think at this point, some people will still buy single days or go after the second wave and everything else is released, but those people that were “somewhat interested” who are also big music fans probably will save their money and spend it on all the other shows that have been announced in the past few months/will be announced soon.

yeah and it's a voucher for a set amount to be used for airfare... i would bet it doesn't even cover a last minute trip like that.

I believe it was for $750, which would more than cover it (by quite a bit)... If what I'm looking at for costs right now is accurate, haha. But I'm sure it'll jump up quite a bit in the coming days.

    $750 might cover one person.

No idea where tf you're flying from, even from LA roundtrip flights are still only $300~ at the moment.

What airlines? Keep in mind the delay between winning, receiving the voucher, and having to use the voucher on tickets and the quick ramp-up in prices and the possibility of close-in fees.

my god... im still looking at flights for the end of September to go to northern Virginia and they are CRAZY expensive

Probably Frontier. Even if it is Spirit, it's just a two hour flight. For $120, that's a steal.

All depends on where you're going to and from.

It's from Florida. Those tickets are always cheap.

Eh, I live in the capital (Tallahassee) and tickets are crazy expensive out of here. However, for RF dates, they're still only $650, which the voucher would more than cover.

That's fair. I should have prefaced a tourist trap like Orlando.

Is that for one person or two, though?

One. People in town are used to flying out of other airports, though, such as Jacksonville, Orlando, or Tampa. The only people that fly out of Tallahassee are politicians and lobbyists.
