Truth or Dare was really bad. Not worth a penny.

Nightmare for sure imo. The franchise gets far more inventive and has more fun. The only one I really struggle getting they is 2. The rest are great. Watch them both and then finish it all with Freddie Vs Jason.

I started responding to this thinking you said I Saw the Devil. Very different movies haha. I didn’t see the one you’re talking about, but ISTD is amazing.

I'll give it a look at this. The reason i'm asking is that movie was a great movie. Such call backs to thee Exorcist and some plays were really well then it just.... ended. Like that, it had so much hope and could have last longer but I must have missed something. Definitely not a straightforward exorcism movie.

Is that the cheap blu ray set? How are the video/audio/extras?

  9. I actually grabbed the DVD set because money was tight (I'm not the pickiest when it comes to my collection). I do wish there was a Complete Collection available (the only one I'm seeing is over $250), but as far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with the video/audio. Extras seem pretty good, I'm only through the first two discs but plenty of commentaries, recent interviews with cast and crew, convention footage, making of footage, and some short films called Lost Tales From Camp Blood.

  10. I saw Searching tonight. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was.

    Yesterday I watched:

Wrong Turn 5 (HBO): Doug Bradly Pinheading it up saves what is otherwise an unsurprising dud.

Fashionista (Prime): Interesting in parts but felt waaaaaaay too long. Watched it for the cast of Ethan Embry, Alex Essoe and Amanda Fuller. It's told out of sequence and that can get a little annoying. More psychological thriller than horror. I watched it because I loved Essoe in Starry Eyes but she's really only in it for maybe 5 minutes total and the reveal at the end was kinda...okay?

Terrorizer (Netflix): Some say you'll enjoy the first 20-40 minutes because the clown can be creepy (and funny) but the rest of the cast is just not up to selling it. I also have to wonder (and I don't normally) if the writer/director has any issues with women he's working out with this. Possibly graphic spoilers: Because boy do they get it the worst. He kills the men very quickly in nearly every case but brutalizes and stalks every single woman. They all die horribly and suffer. Even sawing one in half starting from their bottom.

I will likely only see The Nun and Halloween in the coming months when it comes to horror. Been hyping myself up on both movies. One of which, I will likely enjoy regardless of the quality and reviews.

I’m becoming more and more excited for The Nun. I wasn’t sold for that being the choice for the next spinoff in their universe, but the marketing and early word of mouth has been quite strong.

Halloween I couldn’t be more excited for.

  15. I will say, I enjoyed both Conjuring films but was feeling pretty Wan-ed out regarding his style and that universe of films, but The Nun trailer definitely caught my attention.

Also lol'd seeing a movie called Bad Nun at the Redbox the other day with nearly-identical artwork

Redbox is always getting movies that shamelessly rip off movies coming to theatres. Idk who falls for that shit lol

    I h8 Redbox but I use it.

  18. I MUCH prefer the family-owned Film Fest Video in my hometown, something legitimately comforting about being in video rental stores because I grew up going to them so often, but Red Box will do in a pinch (especially for new releases)

We have a local video store that I swear to God is a front for drugs or something because I don't know a single person who has ever set foot in there. I'm always wanting to convince someone to go in and try to rent a movie. I'm just so confused about its existence. Looks sketch af too. Tho if it is legit I'm sad I haven't been taking advantage of a video store!

But no way it's legit lol

Lol are you sure it's not already closed down and is just a standing building? Every video rental store that ever existed in my area has been long gone.

Oh no it's still open. They have fairly current movie posters up and they just switched locations a few weeks ago. The former location was on my way to work and I'd try to glance at the windows as I walked past and there's a dude who runs it but I have never seen customers

Edit: OK I just Googled. Apparently it's been open for like fifty years. Idek how because I've lived here for most of my life and I didn't even know it existed until a few years ago and I have never met anyone who has gone. It had one review which was negative and claimed the owner like interrogated them over their income. They post their new releases on fb monthly but no promotional or any other kind of posts. Hmm.

I'm sure there are none left in the woooooooorld so that poster is obviously part of the front and they moved due to the lease. I will not trust this until I see you get a video from there hahaha

I just edited my post because I Googled it! It appears to have been open for fifty years which is bizarre to me because I've lived here for nearly twenty years and it's a small town and even in the video rental era I never heard anyone mention going to this place. The only fb posts are the monthly new releases and nothing else. No come on in, no promotional posts, nothing. Only found one review on yelp which was negative, and said owner behaved strangely. I did find a owner name and I am going to ask around

If I end up murdered yall know I got in too deep!!
