So much goodness in this play haha. Etling showing out, Giants football, and thinking of CarpetElf watching this play. In my mind the NYG's coach in that video is @CarpetElf.

The preseason has no correlation to regular season results.

I dunno. Our defensive line is our biggest weakness and they’ve looked abysmal all preseason. I have a hard time believing they’re just going to flip a switch and start sacking every QB.

We're talking about two different things then. If your team has a shit defensive line, they'll be shit in preseason, regular season, etc...

I'm referring more to looking at stats, scores, W/L records, etc... and thinking they have a correlation. That kind of thing annoys me every single season.

Take the Cowboys, for example. We have nearly zero depth across the roster so we've largely looked terrible the whole preseason, but we had multiple starters not playing at all or very little in general, so it's not indicative of how we actually are. If we have injuries or suspensions at key positions, then yeah, we'll look awful.

Patricia might turn into Geoff Schwartz

Barring injuries, I can't see us finishing last in the division. In our supposed awful season, we still ended up with a winning record with our arguably best player missing 6 games, as well as injuries to 3-4 major players who missed games or played hurt. Not having Frederick for the foreseeable future is pretty rough, but Looney has looked good so far and he's the center Dak learned with when he was first drafted, so they should have good chemistry.

The Giants were one of the worst teams of the year last year, but Barkley could be special and OBJ is, in my opinion, the best receiver in the league but he's coming back from a bad injury, so he might be slowed down by that. Plus, Eli is only getting older and it would be shocking for him to be better out of nowhere.

The Redskins were riddled with injuries, so going 7-9 is impressive, but they've also switched up quarterbacks and their new running back is going to miss the whole season.

I think the Eagles win the division and we'll be contending for the 5th or 6th Wild Card spot and then once the playoffs start, anything could happen.

Dallas is not competing for a wildcard spot hahaha. Giants have one of the best (and youngest) skill position groups in the league. Washington is good. Dallas would be lucky to finish 3rd in that division this year.

Dallas has more wins over the last two seasons than most other teams in the league, so it's not like it's astronomical to predict they'll be competing for a playoff spot.

Two NFC south teams have a better chance of getting a wildcard than the cowboys

I'm expecting the Cowboys to be competing with two NFC South teams for the 5th or 6th and we play the Panthers week one, so that will be huge!

    Edit: LOL, good timing ^^^

    Lets Go. Prestigious

the NFC playoff teams are going to come from this group

    Eagles
    Packers
    Vikings
    Saints
    Falcons
    Panthers
    Rams

I will be SHOCKED if any other NFC team makes it barring something like an injury to Rodgers etc

Just did a quick Google and only 8 teams have had 2 winning seasons in a row, one of which is the Cowboys, and the only teams with more wins than us over that span is the Patriots, Steelers, and Chiefs.

Frederick is easily the biggest missing player, but reports are that he might be able to return mid-season, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll miss Witten for his leadership and blocking, but his receiving hasn't been all that great for a while now and Dez is clearly not who he used to be as evidenced by not being all that high sought of a free agent all offseason.

All that to say, acting like we have zero shot at the playoffs is ridiculous.

I just looked at the cowboys schedule, I'll be surprised if they don't go into their bye 2-5 in week 7 at best
