ngl first thing I did when I saw that was verify that you were an actual person and that your girlfriend actually had a job that could relate to RF.....but it checks out....and now I'm strangely hopeful again.

 

Yeah, they don't usually roll out the second wave the same way they roll out the other announcements... I remember one year it was just unceremoniously dropped at like, 6pm EST/5pm EST (the year they added Primus, the Hold Steady, and Say Anything).

 

I see why they wouldn't announce both on the same day. But... The "wanting to go to both" bit just means they probably have strong openers.

 

No I hear you, it's just mainly the idea of them hyping that particular event ~3 months out. If they were closing a day or RF, I bet they would "celebrate" that for a day or two before talking about a holiday show. Either way, even before this I still didn't think TBS was the third headliner.

 

She works for the company that deals with the sponsors. Let's hope she didn't lemme down.

So I thought today about the three day passes - my shower thoughts are fucked up - and I think they’ve been holding off to try and get more weekend passes sold so they can claim X amount were sold.

But now that I’ve caught up on this roller coaster with you all and hope it comes out today.

 

Well I don't think it would be noon because it doesn't make sense to release it when people are out at lunch and whatnot doing other things. They'll wait until 1 when people are back at their computers and not ready to work yet. (Or maybe I'm just projecting my own experience onto everyone)

Nah, they've been doing their holiday show for a few years, so promoting it isn't that huge of a deal. Their fans know it's coming. And I would imagine they don't get a say in when RF decides to release stuff.

 

That would make sense. It could also be the "strength" of the headliners that they have. That is: Blink-182 and Beck are "good" headliners, but they aren't anything special. They might not expect to sell as many single day tickets as usual.

I'm sure last year they sold a shit-ton of Friday and Sunday single day tickets based on Jawbreaker and Nine Inch Nails. Similarly, in 2016, I'm sure they had a ton of people buying tickets just for the Misfits... And probably for the day that had Brand New.

And maybe they don't have that to bank on this year.

I eat at my desk because I'm a masochist, but I hear you. 1pm CST/2pm EST would make sense.

...If they announce the aftershows, I'm assuming tickets would go on-sale at 12pm CST tomorrow?

I'd imagine Friday...I believe that's when they went on sale two years ago when I went to one, but I could be very wrong.

 

This makes me think it's not coming today.
