After months of saying that Shrine by The Republic Of Wolves was the most boring record I have heard all year, I told @teebs41 and @Colin Your Enthusiasm that I would give Shrine one more chance, the right way. The right way being the extended version, which has 3 additional tracks mixed into the record. @teebs41 was kind enough to send me a digital download since the extended version is not available via streaming.

After my first proper listen of the extended version, with the lyrics in front of me, I’d like to publicly withdraw my comments of it being the most boring record of 2018. It was a very enjoyable listen when I gave it the attention it deserved.

I’d like to challenge everyone to give a record they thought was over-hyped another chance!

 

For what fans?
