Loved Beast Mode 2. He’s been killing it this year on the low between that and the Esco tape, Superfly Soundtrack, Zaytoven project, and Scooter project.

 

Well it’s referring to the fact that the Nicki and Future tour comes with each of their albums when you buy tickets, Beast Mode 2 wasn’t an album and he has said it was an appetizer before the album. So there’s a little more to it than “Future is working”.

 

I’m tired of the rap marketing speak. If it’s a regular full length that is being monetized on official channels (Spotify, iTunes etc.), it’s an album.

 

I love Future but I definitely feel fatigued by the constant never ending stream of projects. After a certain point it just feels like diminishing returns. This goes for multiple artists I guess. Silly thing to complain about but w/e

 

Yeah agreed, it used to feel a lot more exciting when a project would drop every 2-3 years. Fuck, even just now when I used the word project instead of ALBUM. I miss ALBUMS. The Datpiff days when it was very clear what was and wasn’t a mixtape. Now we got commercial mixtapes and studio albums that are more or less the same.

 

2018: The year Nipsey Hussle released his debut studio album lol

 

I just wish artists would stop adding to/updating albums after they’re released lol

 

Also maybe it’s just my browser but datpiff hasn’t been fully functional for months now

 

I used to buy mid 00s mixtapes on CD in FatBeats Amsterdam lol those were definitely illegal

If you don’t think Hate the Real Me isn’t one of the best, most achingly honest Future songs idk what to tell you

 

Ya “Hate the Real Me” is very good, the rest of BM2 just felt like Future by-the-numbers

 

I feel like that song is the closest we've gotten to Monster-era Future since that tape.

 

Super Slimey is great imo.

Love Super Slimey but Slime Language is better on first listen and I'm only on track 6.

Best song on Super Slimey is "Killed Before" and it's a Thugger solo track.

yea i respect the hustle and theoretical artistic output that some rappers do but more rarely = better imo. lil b, future, and lil wayne miss way more than they hit for me. i much prefer a slow drip of good content

 

So much this. They're all just rehashes at this point. I can't remember the last time that a Metro Boomin beat excited me.

 

I find it funny how people insisted years ago that YG only made good music due to DJ Mustard, but YG's best album is the only one that Mustard wasn't involved in.

 

Metro has been silent this year, has a few good ones on Gunna’s project and nearly every song on the 21/Offset project from last year is very good
