    Fight the long defeat.

The second verse of 'The Great Exchange' gets me every time. The phrase 'infinite indigo jaws' is particularly beautiful.

As someone who loves Jesus, the line 'Your body is a bridge across an endless sea' also resonates pretty heavily.

I've always admired Dustin's ability to channel spiritual topics without sacrificing (and in fact, elevating) the beauty of his writing. Not an easy thing to do, and something that's often done poorly.

Beggars isn't my favorite album by a stretch, but I do love all the moments people are pointing out. That bridge from At the Last, boy is that good.

I'm liking this because you're a bold man for that bottom tier compared to that subterranean tier.

Even as a subjective hot take, this is the worst take I have ever seen on this site. And I have made some bad ones myself.

Even though I love In Exile, their response of why they felt it maybe fits Dustin's solo stuff better and the other band members being bored live is a not a terrible reasoning. I can't find the post though, so either it was deleted or I am dreaming lol.

The ending of In Exile is what really sets it apart for me, otherwise I’d think it was just a decent song.

Probably my absolute favorite all-time Thrice moment is when Dustin screams, "BUT I NEED!" right after the breakdown in Kill Me Quickly. Chills every time.

Then there are many songs I love with an amazing final minute (or so): That Hideous Strength, Where Idols Once Stood, For Miles, Like Moths to Flame, Of Dust and Nations, Red Sky, Daedalus, Promises, Black Honey.

And some of the standout songs lyrically to me: Cold Cash Colder Hearts, TAITA, Don't Tell & We Won't Ask, the 4 TAI sonnets, Beggars.

It's crazy how good they are at song endings. Those are all great examples. Other songs with amazing outros/endings: Under A Killing Moon, The Earth Will Shake, Stand And Feel Your Worth, The Weight Of Glory, Firebreather, Digital Sea.

The only good song on Artist – Abolition. That ending is everything.

    You gotta stop.

Opinions are one thing, but like, come the heck on. You’re baiting for people to attack that specific opinion.

I've made this clear on several occasions. Even when I don't say anything polarizing, I'm still slammed. So, what would you have me do?

Abolition does have an amazing ending, one that brings up that song so much. All of Artist so so damn good.

Whistleblower has a heck of an ending, too. I can't believe how much I appreciate that song two years later.

So let me help you out. You could have just came in and said "Aboliton of Man's ending is everything" instead you had to add "it's the only good song on Artist" for absolutely no reason.

Michael, I can thank you for one thing: Your comments made me listen to TAITA for the first time in a few years, and it's just as good as I remember it. It's a definitely in the upper echelon of Thrice releases, for me. Thanks, bud! :)

This. It's okay to not like the album. We all have things we dont like that other people like. But saying that it's a bad album except for one song is just not true.

Imagine if there was someone who was a massive diehard Beatles fan, but said “I love every album except Sgt. Pepper’s, that one is worthless garbage and has one good song”.

Welcome to the Thrice thread on Chorus 2k18

Shout out to all the Prodcast listeners out there. Was glad to hear that Ed took some notes from Ian because I love the tones he gets on the Kowloon records

I know they're more literal than what many people in here like, but my favourite Thrice song lyrically is The Whaler. It really conveys the emotion well in my opinion. "My daughter's eyes they are two tiny seas who's waters will rise and then run down her cheeks" gets me every time.
