Also this has been a really weird roll out from the get go. Seems like it wasn't planned well/ if at all. Loving the tracks tho

Everything has seemed very intentional to me.

I’d be content with one new 1975 song a month til i’m dead.

 

Give Yourself a Try is a top five 1975 song and probably my favorite track of the year.

 

if we're getting one song per month until the album we've got two more (not including november, because thats album month). that'll be five total. im predicting at least a 15 track album, possibly more. im very, very unbothered by how much we've already heard and how much we've yet to hear before it comes out as well. before ILIWYS we heard love me, ugh, the sound, she's american, somebody else, a change of heart, right? maybe one or two of those was after the album drop single but still we heard a lot and it did not diminish my initial listens of the full project whatsoever.

 

Did they actually push it back or did people just assume it was coming sooner? I don't honestly remember. Overall though it hasn't felt haphazard at all to me.

Idk. Just seems like they changed up a lot of stuff. Which ofc they are allowed to and I'm not really complaining at how it's going just doesn't seem like it was intentional or how most albums are rolled out. Sort of reminds me of how something from Travis/ Kanye would drop .

And in terms of it not being intentional
- album name change
- decided to make two albums instead of one
- changed the date more than once

Again, these aren't complaints just observations that I found interesting.

 

i mean, they intentionally pushed back the album release date to give themselves more time to finish it.

i thought they said it was coming out in October on the Beats give yourself a try interview and then ended up pushing it back cause it wasn't finished? You're saying they announced the initial October date, knowing that they'd move it to november?

 

I feel like there’s a comment like this about every single album that doesn’t just surprise release haha

 

i dont think it was an announcement, they said the album wasnt done and it was looking like october but did not seem 100% set in stone at all

 

there has been no real album release date announced at all to begin with, just what month

Huh, i just remembered October and then like May of 2019 for the next one or somethin'. Either way, i know WHY they pushed it to november, haha.

 

A month is not a release date. Until there's an actual date, I don't really feel like it's fair to say that it has been pushed back. We've gotten estimates, but that's all so far, as far as I've seen.

 

Nah this is solely because this is the third single and we're like 3 months away. Which would mean more would be dropping before then. But yea I think surprise drops have spoiled us in terms of singles not dropping before albums
