  1. Not a song I'd call "safe."

It really does need to break out in order to gain larger appeal though. CRUSH THE BRIDGE ALWAYS. No sax :( (or was there?!)

like it, dont love it, wish it went somewhere, just kind of stays the same the whole time. vocals mixed super low cant make out many lyrics, dont love that. but, its fucking chill and the beat is great and the vocal effects are cool.

Fine, but it’s also already stuck in my head, so we’ll see how it grows. Love It If We Made It is still easily my favorite but I think it’s my favorite 1975 song too so not a fair comparison

We reach for the longest shadow

It's catchy enough. I would've liked it more if it was released before LIIWMI

  8. (This is the official second single btw.)

eh, it's fine. I'm not gonna repeat listen any of these so far :tear:

There's gonna be some on the record I love though, I know it.

That's what I'm thinking, but who knows how that would have gone? It does seem closer to the underwhelming side, given that LIIWMI explodes and this doesn't.

This is one that will probably sound great in the context of the record. It's not as immediate as the other two.

Same Fender - Dead Boys was the track before the 1975 debut

Pretty underwhelmed with the songs they’ve released/album promotion so far.

This is pretty fun! Pretty simple but it’s definitely catchy.

Not bad, Not my favorite but musically - love it. I hope the vocal effect isn't heavy on the album the way it is on this song. It fits here but don't want a large % of the album to have the effect. They typically diversify their style so much that I doubt it will be but since By My Side it's seemed more heavy than earlier in their career. That's my only gripe! Otherwise, I'm still hyped

  23. Breezy is a pretty good word for this. Not over the moon about it, but it’s catchy and easy on the ears. The vocal effect is cool, I like how present it is without overdoing it. Probably has to do with the vocals being mixed pretty low
