I don't mind Chikorita, I'm mostly disappointed that it's shiny form is ugly.

 

Eh i'm just glad I anticipated it. Ive got 140 chick candies so if i'm busy that day I'll just be able to turn my game on and get a cool move.

 

Having looked up the Chikorita shiny sprite, it seems appropriate for September really, looks very autumnal.

 

Honestly, there aren't many shiny forms that I find appealing, and the more they add the more it loses its appeal. I like the community day shiny concept, and also the legendary raid days with 3 hour windows. Those made shiny ones feel more valuable/rare. But like, purple Murkrow? A slightly darker red Plusle? C'mon Niantic. The new Snubble is also hideous.

Pretty sure the only ones I think look great and make me want them are Magikarp/Gyarados, Charizard, Venusaur, Lugia, Ho-Oh (still very upset I don't have one of this), and now Umbreon. I have all of the above except that fucking Magikarp and Ho-Oh, so my drive towards shiny hunting is at a lull sadly.

 

unfortunately Niantic inherited the unexciting shinies from Game Freak, i doubt they could change them even if they wanted to

 

I need to find someone with a shiny Charmander/Charizard to trade with because that's the only shiny I really wanted, actively looked for and still didn't get. I'm behind so much now that I think the only valuable things I probably have are Corsola and Heracross (being in the middle of the country).

My roommate was all out of balls and found a shiny Houndour on the couch. He only had one gift to open and it had an ultra ball. Lucky mother fucker caught it.

What's your strategy? I've tried to solo Alolan Raichu twice and I always run out of time right before beating it.

This makes me happy because I honestly assumed this was going to be the ultra reward for the end of the summer. So, now it's time to speculate as to what that is. I'm thinking it's going to be the beginning of a gen 4 rollout.

 

I'm thinking shiny Mewtwo.

 

Damn and to think I just quit this game yesterday......guess I'll have to keep playing.

 

With the caveat that I've been wrong before, how would it make sense to gatekeep new content behind a reward unlock?
