Also, I feel like Orlando always has crazy endings.

 

That's the Rooney I loved. Shame he tried to leave twice and then his performances tanked in his later years. I wish I could look back on Rooney without it being completely tainted.

That’s not surprising to me. They made the window too tight and didn’t seem to account for setbacks. Stadium looks amazing though.

 

Arsenal Fan TV got a cease to exist warrant.

Apparently it's not because Arsenal care, it's because they have to be seen to be seen to be protecting their copyright in order to maintain it. Plus I don't watch it but I believe it's been re-branded as AFTV recently anyway?

 

Only saw a bit of this weekend's football as it was my birthday yesterday but it seems everything went as expected.

 

Bit of a none story really. They're booking Wembley as a contingency plan if they aren't ready for the Liverpool game. Not sure that the name of the stadium is great though. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?

 

Can you imagine the board meeting when discussing the name of the stadium?

Why don't they just call it White Hart Lane

 

Something simple. White Hart Lane 2.0.

 

They probably won't call it White Hart Lane because they want it to be sponsored.

The AIA Arena

 

We have our biggest game of Rodgers tenure tonight and there hasn't half been issues leading upto it. Getting beat off Hearts at the weekend, Dedryck Boyata & agent acting the prick, injuries and the fact our away form in Europe is generally rotten.

Pray for us.

 

The amount of injuries is ridiculous. I don't see it happening tonight just purely based on our away form and current morale.

 

Welp, good luck in Athens. I saw the 1st leg and thought it was a sham of a sending off for AEK.

 

The cynic in me thinks this is the real reason for the crappy name. None of this stuff about brand recognition.

 

Similar reason why Juventus Stadium was named that until Allianz sponsored it.

There would be much more uproar if they sponsored a stadium called WHL, but if they call it the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a couple of years, no one will care when they monetise the name.

 

Maybe they could give it a really classy name, like Newcastle did. AIA @ The Tottenham Hotspur Arena anyone?
