They were bigger than both of those bands to begin with, and still get played as a "throwback" on the alt radio stations, and released a criticially acclaimed album recently so they're closer to Taking Back Sunday level popularity than Hawthorne Heights I'd say.

Ataris are literally broke as hell, only play songs off their first album, headline under 600 cap venues, haven't had an album in years, and played one of the smaller stages on last Warped (while sharing a merch tent with Bad Cop, Bad Cop), so I'd say they're smaller than all of the above bands.

 

Yeah, I saw The Ataris at Warped last year. Kris looked and sounded the best I've seen him in a long time, but before their last song he explained how they're sharing a merch tent and were touring in a minivan. Pretty wild to hear from a guy who had a Top 40 hit and Gold album at one point, but also goes to show how fast you can rise and fall in this scene.

They only played to about 200 people, but they also played at like 11:45 so I took that with a grain of salt.

 

What critically acclaimed album have they released recently?

Idk, maybe I'm confusing it for another album but I'm pretty sure I remember the Canyon having rave reviews.

I'm not a big fan of The Used though, so I could be misremembering.

 

TBH The Canyon was a pretty good album. Critically acclaimed is a bit generous, but it got good reviews.

 

They did a co-headlining tour with Glassjaw last fall that did 2,000 - 3,000 cap venues.

 

If this turns out to only be a one time gig I'm going to be pretty disappointed.

My friend told me it’s definitely a tour.

 

At least the routing looks to be AFTER november 1st, which is when early decision is due for me (no concerts for me until after).

 

Three of those bands are good.

 

Stoked that I can leave after the first three bands and get dinner or something.

 

The only thing that would make up for TSSF being a one off would be a Movements/Trash Boat tour.

 

The Palladium is a 3,700 capacity venue. Curious as to how this sells, but I’m definitely gonna try and hit it up

 

At warped in Tampa trash boat said they’re trying to make it back to the USA as soon as possible, but as of right now have nothing booked, so I would probably rule out them being here by this fall.
