  2. I wonder if this means we go back to 3 CB system.

    Lloris
    Sanchez - Toby - Vertonghen
    Trippier - Eriksen - Dier - Dele - Davies
    Kane - Son

Lucas, Lamela, Dembele, Wanyama, Winks, Sissoko all bench options. It’s stlll a fairly deep squad. Just gotta hope there’s no big injury. But that can be said for any team.

Good starting XI for sure imo. Probably my fav CB trio ever too - shame they all play for Spurs!

That really is a lot of people named Sam.

At least my team name and avatar here match so that's easy to remember.

I saw your team name in a tweet and really wanted to use it, but I thought it would be too niche for most of friends to appreciate haha

Haha my friend actually mentioned it to me. I assumed it was an original idea but I guess not!

We held on to all our key players which the main positive. Should the embargo now be lifted I still think we could strengthen. There’s a few players who are proven championship quality who aren’t likely to feature much this season. Would love to see us go in for Sam Byram from West Ham and Oliver Norwood from Brighton. Think we need to add a centre back and a winger to that too and I’m sure we’ll have earmarked some youngsters.

Maybe I’m being overly optimistic and the window will close without us making big a signing.

Didn’t the window “slam shut” today?

Teams in lower leagues can still loan players in.

  11. I’m going to watch a lot of Fulham this year. I really like what they did this summer.

  12. “The best manager” I love it

  13. How good is this keeper Chelsea got? I feel like they spent a net 50m and downgraded. But I’m sure I’m wrong.

I’m actually concerned we’ve signed too many new players. That never ends well on football manager.

    hmmm

They have downgraded. I really like Kepa - reflexes are very good, he's quick off his line if I'm recalling correctly as well. But to have spent that much net in relation to Courtois is not the best business.

Digne, Mina to Everton permanently. Gomes on loan to them, too.

Feel like Everton have bought 600 players in the last two summers.

  17. Curious how teams handle their WC players this weekend. Spurs and United seem to have the most players to incorporate.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Prediction wise, I think the top 6 is probably pretty set. Would take a guess at:
    City
    Liverpool
    Spurs
    Man U
    Chelsea
    Arsenal

Although, if I'm honest, the only two I have any real confidence in are City and Liverpool. I think the other four are probably interchangeable. Two new managers, one team in a new stadium and with no signings and then a team whose manager is being a stroppy bastard before we've even started.

Bottom three is a lot harder.
    I'm going for:
    Bournemouth
    Southampton
    Cardiff

I think Newcastle will scrape by with Benitez. If he goes, I think we crash out. There's a lot of bad feeling at Newcastle right now, but the signings we've made probably do marginally improve the squad. The trouble is that it's paper thin.

    I do not exist.

How do people see Crystal Palace doing? The bottom of the table is very intriguing this season.

I'd take a punt on them having a fairly nothing season. Decent squad, no real dramas right now that I know of. I think there are enough teams who'll be having problems for Palace to just cruise to lower mid table. Roy has done well with that sort of squad before, so who knows. Might crack top 10.

Palace will be lower-mid table imo. Max Meyer being there is so cool though.

Would piss me off if Bournemouth & Southampton are relegated. There is never any clubs from the South/South West of England in the PL - the above two are 120 and 140 miles away from where I am respectively, so I like 'em both purely for being the "closest" lol. Also, Southampton have a lot of affiliated academies in my area and my little nephew plays for one of them! So he'll be a star there one day of course then I'll become a proper supporter of them lol.
