Nobody asked me, but I think American Candy is my favorite.

My least favorite is probably Black & White, but Forever Halloween is right up (errr down) there.

I still like Can't Stop, Won't Stop but it feels like a much different band that wrote that album and it's tough to rank it along with the rest of the albums. LLL and Pioneer are really close for me.

I guess my ranking would go something like

Yea I don't know Pioneer is one of my favorite albums ever so we are just very different on this one haha but I get your complaint more with FH (but there are a few notable exceptions)

 

It makes sense that they didn't like B&W, because they didn't enjoy making it. I don't really think that has any bearing on how much a listener can/should enjoy it, though.

I think there are great moments on Pioneer, it just doesn't really hold together as a full album for me and felt pretty jarring after Black & White. It's better than Forever Halloween, which I think is a dull mess.

 

I think I'm in the same boat as Craig... Not that I enjoyed Black & White immensely (at the time, I basically put "Inside of You" on repeat and ignored the rest of the album), but the Pioneer and Forever Halloween era doesn't do a lot for me musically. "When I'm At Home" might be the only song I truly enjoy out of that era.

I think that's what allowed American Candy to take me by surprise. I don't know if I've ever been more surprised by a band that I had written off turning into one of my most-listened-to bands.
