That year, Will gave an interview where he complained that they weren't bumped to main stage in their hometown (IIRC). That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way back then. I don't think it's a coincidence they were never back.

Yeah. Pretty sure Kevin said right from the get go this was the last cross country tour but they were planning “something special” for the 25th anniversary if anything it’s gotten bigger given all the cash I’m sure they made this summer.

Panic at the Disco, fun. and Dashboard Confessional are probably the biggest ones that could have easily done Warped but never did.

to the best of my knowledge, Suburban Legends never did it either even though they would have fit the bill perfectly.

Surprised Kevin never made City and Colour happen.

Bloodhound Gang could have worked well either prior to them really taking off or after they started sliding back down.

During the Skullcandy years we could have seen Girl Talk or Super Mash Bros.

Bloodhound Gang is a good one I didn't think of.

And all kidding aside, Smash Mouth would have been a perfect nostalgia main stage band at any point in the last decade.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Smash Mouth would’ve been a perfect fit on the lineup in 1997

Also, Smash Mouth could’ve and should’ve done it this year

They also should’ve gotten Drake Bell

  9. I wish some other overseas bands like WSTR, Stand Atlantic and Between You & Me were placed on Owly or Full Sail this year.

I’ll say it again, Odd Future would have crushed it back in the early 2010s on main stage.

Other honorable mentions from this scene that never played but easily could have fit the lineup: The Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball, Tiny Moving Parts, Turnover

A few that always step out to me is the back in the early 2000’s and the big metal revival. How big that metal core genre got and how many of those big bands didn’t play. I mean they did have Atreyu, Underoath, All That Remains, Evergreen Terrace, Poison the well, Killswitch, Norma Jean. But one that always sticks out to me is other than Bleeding Through being on two weeks in 2005 they never did a full summer. Shadows Fall, Zao, Bury Your Dead, A Life Once Lost, Dead To Fall, Unearth (until this past year), The Red Chord, I mean I honestly could go on and on, but just a ton of those bands never were on warped.

I know they are kinda a joke now, but another was The Faceless, at one point they were probably the biggest up and coming metal band around. When Planet Duality came out people were hailing them and Job For A Cowboy as the future of heavy metal, and they both kinda got passed. I just always thought considering the hype machine behind them you would have seen them on.

  12. I wish Counterparts had played before 2017. They would be way bigger than they are now.

When most of thise bands were at their height there was an Ozzfest to book them. Then Mayhem popped up and most really didn't see a need to bother with Warped. No matter how heavy some of the bands on Warped were it was always seen as a punk festival.

I know Kevin got LP to play one show regardless of how big LP was and still is, I always had this weird dream he had got The Smashing Pumpkins to play even though Billy Corgan would have never done it.

Meh, there were always more than a few heavy bands every year.

For as hard as Plot in you and For the Fallen Dreams worked to get on warped, it’s a bummer neither band ever did.

Did Plot ever try to get on? I thought I heard Landon didn't really have too much of an interest.

Maybe he said that after or something, but they tried pretty hard when watch your children burn came out. Different members would share the surveys year after year as well.

For whatever it’s worth, Zao did play Warped in ‘05. I know because they were included on the comp (First I ever bought.)

    This was the song...

I’ll have to look that up, I went every year since 2002 and I never even remember seeing them listed. That is interesting to know.

As much as I like the band, I think Landon falls into that category of singers that say things for the sake of saying things sometimes too, or just going against the grain to be different.

Went and looked it up, they were on for a few weeks, but left with a week left due to Randall getting injured.

I don't think Zao actually played in 05. They were just on the compilation. I've never been able to find what date(s) they were on. The fan run wiki doesn't have them listed on the 2005 lineup.

There were a few bands on the 2005 CD who as far as I know didn't play that summer. Zao, Flogging Molly, Underminded, Nural, Pennywise, Left Alone

EDIT: I guess I'm wrong about Zao

I’ve always been surprised that Suicide Silence only played once. And I’m also surprised that the Transplants ever played, I didn’t think Travis Barker or Tim Armstrong would be interested/willing, even back in 2005.

Did Job For A Cowboy ever play the tour? They seemed like a likely candidate when they first started at the least. Or maybe kind if what The Black Dahlia Murder was in 2013.
