This has been known for a long time which is why most who follow this stuff thought the Paris Agreement of not more than 2 degrees Celsius was written to be a complete failure. We're so fucked. Democrats are pathetic and never cared. Push for natural gas all over the world and expect to be praised because its not coal. Obama enters into a nonbonding agreement that was never going to stop global disaster. I hope whatever is left after this writes it down correctly, that capitalism destroyed us.

I'm sure its growing but I hope not exponentially right now lol. That would be 1.7 degrees every hundred years even if it holds steady (which it won't), which is still ridiculous and nowhere near normal historical temperature change that right wing idiots would have you believe. The problem is once you get around 2 degrees the modeling predicts that huge amounts methane trapped under ice in the ocean will be released and exponentially raise temperature in the 4-5 degree range in a short time. There are other "feedbacks" that are predicted to occur and are occurring that will increase the rate, but the melting ice in the ocean is the biggest risk that I know of.

In other depressing climate change news, my boyfriend just got hired as a fifth grade science teacher and during training today he learned that the state of Texas is officially removing renewable energy sources from the curriculum
