One day, MoviePass will be talked about in business classes across college campuses. And not in a positive light.

What a colossally mismanaged company. This is a Hindenbergian, slow-motion disaster.

If they're trying to give a middle finger to those cancelling by rolling back all the changes, it uh, is not working? I feel nothing but relief to not have my bank account tied to this company lol.

That’s the old iHeart radio plan Im pretty sure. I’m guessing that will be gone on the 15th when they go to the new business model.

The changes don't start until August 15th/when you renew your plan.

There was a non zero chance of giving them $15 a month in perpetuity and never being able to see anything

The article didn’t mention how that will affect annual plan users. I wonder if I will be restricted to three a month

local movie theatres here do discount days on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday so I think I'm ok with losing moviepass.

    It won't affect annual subscriptions.

  9. Being able to see only 3 movies a month is fine I guess, but is “peak pricing” going to keep being a thing? That’s the worst part about MP now, in my opinion, and makes it totally worth cancelling.

Peak Pricing is ending with the new plan. I don't know if it stops now, or on the 15th.

I think surge pricing already ended right? Because those movies just don't show up anymore

From my understanding it 3 movies a month, 9.99, none of the other bullshit. Still a no brainer

3 movies a month is still a good deal.... but yea they have to get rid of the restrictions. I dont see more than 3 a month anyways and it's still saving me money

    Die rad.

If they just have it at 3 movies a month for $9.99 with zero restrictions and surging im 100% happy. Its $15 here for one ticket here. Im not going to get my hopes up high though as a) this will change yet again in a week or b) this lasts 2 weeks and MP is dead before September.

I wanted to go watch Christopher Robin tomorrow and I'm sad I can't use moviepass but hey it's discount day and it'll probably be worth the $5 easily.

Jesus read the article. $9.95, 3 movies a month for free and a $2-5 discount on any movie after that. No peak pricing, no blackouts. Starting on the 15th

Until they change it again tomorrow

I'm just baffled that they didnt think this through last year.... yeah if they called it at 4 movies a month. Then the max amount of money they could lose per customer would be $50. With the probability that it will be more the $20 range. At least that's a legit business model

Then all they need is some advertising and a few bonus perks to sell customers and bam... now we are talking

    • The new plan will include many major studio first-run films, however there will be some exceptions (note that theaters with e-ticketing will include all movies and showtimes with no restrictions).
