If they still had the same budget and the rest of the league didn't (werent adjusted for similar TV revenue that boosts Bunleys budget and ability to attract players) then they would realistically be competing with Celtic for the league. Burnley seem actually well run down south compared to some so they haven't spent inordinate amounts of money.

I can only say for what I've seen but Rangers v Osijek's budgets look to be closer than Burnley and Aberdeen but realistically Rangers should be beating the 4th best team in Croatia. Croatian league set up looks similar to ours. Powerhouses then the rest.

Sorry I misread that! Yeah that would be good, you'd get stuck in the corner though of their stadium which is a poor seat.

Lampard's Derby tip the championship after a last minute winner over Reading.

Wednesday open their campaign away at Wigan tomorrow. Seriously pessimistic for the start of the season. We were in play off form at the end of the season but we’ve since lost 8 players and replaced them with 7 lads from the under 23’s. I’d be very surprised if we reach the top half and would settle for a point tomorrow.

Forest play Bristol City and I honestly have no idea how this season is going to turn out. I think we've had a pretty decent preseason so hopefully it clicks into place. I just hate how we sack the manager each season and then the new manager brings in a whole new squad. So wasteful.

I watched the Reading v Derby game last night and the standard was dire, lots of misplaced passes and fouling going on. I expected alot more from Clement and Lampard, wouldn't have them down to stoop to "Championship level". That said, it's probably just early season rustiness. Moreover, do you think Lampard has it in him to give a good old fashioned rollicking?

Everton's final pre-season friendly against Valencia is on today at 3pm. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, they'll play us off the park.

With the amount money spent, surely you must be looking at the play offs as a minimum? Was stunned to see you drop £13 million on one player. Grabban is a very impressive signing at our level as well. I expect you’ll do well but it’ll be interesting to see if you can continue spending should things not go to plan.

We’ve (Blackburn) got Ipswich away today and I’ve got no idea what way that games gonna go.

We’ve had an alright preseason and Mowbray’s done wonders with our team over the last season to get us promoted and playing well as a unit.

We’ve also brought in good players this window including Armstrong yesterday who I thought we had no hope in affording which is cool, he was so good for us on loan last season.

I think realistically we could end up anywhere in the bottom half of the table this season, if we can finish anywhere between 10th and 15th I’ll be real happy.

Will be interesting to see what sort of season Ipswich have under Hurst. No idea how to call that game. Think Blackburn will be safe this season.

I'm quietly confident about Hurst/Ipswich this season, be nice to have a manager in charge with ambition and who can play decent football. Hoping for top half at best though.

Excited for all the football to be back so I can bet more haha.

Really intrigued by Leeds this season - I really want them to do well for Bielsa but that 46 game league and his methods may be a recipe for disaster post-December.

Would be shocked if he’s still in the job come Halloween. It’s the Leeds way.

    Holy shit guys.

    ESPN+ has the English Championship?

This is the first legal stream of Blackburn I've seen in probably 6 years.

We lost. Long season ahead for us. Days left of the transfer window and we’re still in a position where we need to sell to buy. Troubling times.

Read that Alderweireld is basically confirmed and Manchester United will unveil in the next 48 hours

Yeah, true. I don't believe it however I do want some transfer business if we are going to sell Pogba back to Juventus.

I wish we kept Januzaj .

  18. I’ve accepted Toby leaving even though I wish he’d stay. If we can get £60m for him then it’s even easier to accept. But giving in to United and selling them Toby while United not giving in and selling Martial to Spurs would be so awful. I get why United won’t sell to us. We should have the same mentality.

Well, we didn't quite get played off the park today like I anticipated but the defending was comical yet again. All three Valencia goals were easily preventable, though. I'm not sure if it's going to be addressed in time for Wolves either, all the rumours linking us to centre-backs seem to have gone cold at this point. Here's hoping Brands has some aces up his sleeve. Perhaps we're waiting on Man United to make their moves first? That's how the market works at times.

On the contary, I can see our attack causing teams alot of problems this season. Walcott turned it on today, interlinking with Tosun very well. Richarlison impressed again on the opposite flank and should of scored. His work-rate was particularly impressive. Valencia have really solid full-backs so it's not like I'm just talking my team up here.

As for The Championship, did anyone see Swansea's second goal? The build-up play was beautiful.

  20. Lucas had a great pre-season. Really looking forward to watching him this year.

  21. I may have to subscribe to espn+ if they’re going to have some decent soccer coverage.

I just don't see why we are even selling Martial. I've always rated him and Rashford. I agree that Toby can be a good significant signing for us but I can't justify £60m for him.

We're going to sign Daniel Arzani on a two-year loan deal.

It's fine, he's just a pal for Tom Rogic who is the best player in the world ever. Don't @ me, I love him.

Yeah I was surprised. We’re owned by a Greek gangster and I think he’s seen what Wolves did and thinks he can do it too. It’s never that simple though. I’d love a play offs push. And whilst we’ve got proven Championship players like Grabban, I just don’t know about a lot of the ‘unknown’ young foreign players. They could adjust and thrive but I’ve also seen far too many fail! You’d hope that they’ve spent this money wisely... we will see!

It’s hard to be a Forest fan. Last season I decided my only expectation/hope would be that we end the season with the same manager we started it with... that didn’t happen. We’ve sacked the manager every season for about seven seasons I think! For me, no matter how much money you spend, this is the problem. There’s no consistency. Each new manager brings in a whole new name. The players who were bright sparks last season and been ushered out the door. It’s such a weird situation. I’m not the biggest Karanka fan but I’ll get behind him and hope he can make this work and mount a proper promotion push. We’ve been in the bottom half for far too many years.

Glad we got a draw against a decent enough Bristol City team. It’s a long season.
