I don't know anything about said Taproot drama, but I did own the cd that had their "hit" Poem

 

No, I wrote a poem to myself. I just needed some time to breathe or live or whatever the shit he sang...

Nah. He tweeted something about haters fueling his fire or whatever. I responded with something along the lines of, "I hear that's how Taproot wound up having 4 more active rock radio Top 10s than your band" or something stupid like that.

That answering machine message he left them is still one of the greatest things of all-time in terms of "shitty person with an ego looking like an ass."

Regardless. Where is "here" and what's a Jake Marquis?

Apparently the dude from the Exploited is back in the hospital. Would be great if they cancelled, just wish it weren't because another human being was sick.

 

Has something happened with The Exploited? I’m not too familiar with them.

 

The Riot Fest e-mail that just went out lists the line-up and says to "PAY ATTENTION NEXT WEEK."

YOU GUYS, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES ARE PLAYING AGAIN! THEY'LL BE PERFORMING THEIR 2000 NON-HIT ALBUM "PAY ATTENTION" FOR THE ALBUM'S 18TH ANNIVERSARY! LOL! IT CAN VOTE!

Seriously, though. Next week is the week. I bet we get new bands and day-by-day announcements on Tuesday.

I mean, there were rumblings over the years that they were a racist/white power band, but everything that I've read now points to that not being the case...

That being said? I just think they're a terrible band with very questionable/obnoxious fans so not having them around would be good. Haha.

I'm completely joking. But I'm sure within the next hour or so, somebody on Reddit will inevitably post that as a theory... Even if that were a thing, it's not a big enough deal for that to be a hint.

That being said? I'd be into it.

So, now that it's on the horizon... How are we all feeling?

Hopeful that there's a third headliner? Hopeful that we'll get some decent surprises? Hopeful that Taking Back Sunday will show up, after all?

I'm thinking we get the day-by-day line-up on Tuesday with the new bands. Aftershow announcements the following week (week of the 20th). With the schedule the week of the 27th.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if we got set times literally the week before at this rate tbh

 

I’m out of the loop. Was a Green Day Dookie set ruled out?

 

I hope TBS shows because they were fire here last Thursday. Best I've ever seen them, hands down.

Eh, I'm hopeful they can get those to us around the same time as usual. That's always fun to figure out!

I don't think Green Day was "ruled out," so much as a few people aren't convinced it's going to happen. Green Day's always been the kind of band that does random shit like that (I mean, they recorded an entire fucking Christmas album that never saw the light of day)... It's not necessarily an indicator that they're going to play a festival set.

I would be so into Taking Back Sunday. I just hope they put them on a main stage somewhere... They're always playing against a headliner.

I would really like if we have the schedule before the after shows, like Lollapalooza does. I think it would make easier to choose which after shows we go and which band we see at the festival

From what I got to hear recently, TBS is actually chilling this fall until their holiday shows and then getting back to business next year. I think John Nolan is doing some solo stuff in the mean time and Adam is finishing up some school he’s doing. But who knows, maybe they’ll play anyway so I’ll look dumber.
