Tell me your real name when you make yours and we’ll listen to each others.

    I’ll do it!

I’m so far behind on reviews, why not add fuel to the fire!

I’m Ross Meyer. The playlist titled Life has my ten and the one titled Life 1 has about 30. We’re only listening to the top 10, but feel free to listen to the other lol

I've got it to review atm, @Bad Frequencies gave it to me last week. I should hopefully have it up in the next day or two, I've not been feeling too great this week so been finding it hard to get in the mindset to write it.

No worries. Feel better and I totally understand about being in the right mindset. Work for me has been nuts and my daughter has colic so none of us are sleeping. I’ll sit down and write my reviews when I can give the music the full attention it deserves.

So glad you enjoyed it. They're an incredible young band and they are always fantastic live. Also I loved that interview, it's the only place I've seen Tobi actually talk about his sexuality, which I knew about anyway as I know he uses Grindr cause he drove my friends band about and he was on it a fair bit haha.

If you make one, tell me your name if you have Apple Music

My only concern is, obviously, the platforms used. I tend to use Spotify as my other half has Premium free through work or my own collection of roughly 40,000 songs. I'm sure something can be worked out.

The only solution i see is screenshotting the playlist and the person with Spotify makes it themselves. Hmmmm... idk

I'm happy to make it myself, it's only 10 songs.

We don’t have to write a review, since the playlists won’t be a cohesive piece.

I never really invested a lot of time in building a profile on Apple Music but it peaks my interest with the sharing of playlists. Maybe we could add something on the main page where we list what music services we have, user names, etc.? Just a thought!

  16. I'm way down with this and I think it's a great idea! I actually recently made a "Soundtrack to My Life" playlist that I would be glad to share. I feel like I might be a bit isolated being a Google Play Music subscriber though haha

  18. Pretty sure you can access it if you have a Google account? I'm not totally sure and not sure what the free version consists of at this point since I've been subscribing to it for a few years now.

Ill check it out! Either way, we don't need to all have the same streaming service in order to share playlists. You can post a picture or just list it here.

Part of my issue with the playlist stuff is some of the music that has truly defined me has ended up being controversial for other reasons (Brand New, Kanye West, etc). Working out what to do with that stuff is tricky.

  22. Hey @Bad Frequencies

I'm about to start my first seminary course, and it's starting a month earlier than I thought (as in, like, right now). So I'm hoping to catch up on reviews this week, then ask to be taken off the roster for two months, with plans to start back up with y'all at the beginning of October.

    Cool? Maybe? :teethsmile::worried:

The Stayawakes - Dogs And Cats/Living Together
    [IMG]
So, last week @Patterns in Traffic told me that I would probably enjoy this album (and he was right). The Stayawakes are band from the UK that blends elements from power pop and pop rock. Dogs and Cats/Living Together is a fantastic summer album. The melodies are warm and catchy, the music is uplifting and the lyrics are simple yet memorable and quite reflective at times. The guitar work on some of the songs reminds me in a way of The Menzingers, but with a dreamy and chill vibe that I really enjoy.

My favourite track on the album ended up being "Jake" a song about trying comfort a child who is going through a rough patch. The song's refrain, "Take your armour off, you can never get bored" is so infectious and hopeful, I can't help but smile every time I listen to it.

Another standout track for me was "Inevitable Truth". In this song the narrator aims to better himself, break old habits and face his reality.

All in all, Dogs and Cats/Living Together is an album full of great songwriting, layered instrumentals and beautiful harmonies. I am excited to see what the future holds for this band. Thank you @Patterns in Traffic for the recommendation!
