the ships have all sailed to the sea

Yup yup. Here’s Your Letter, Stockholm Syndrome, and Bored to Death are his other all-time greats I think.

  2. The only Blink singles that I’m sick of seeing live are ATST, First Date, and Down. The rest are a blast.

Feeling This is potentially blink’s best song but it’s never translated all that well live IMO

I like every blink single a lot.

The bridge in Everytime I Look For You is huge. One of my favorite Blink moments

    Favorite blink moment?

A tie between Mark’s verse in Stockholm Syndrome and the transition between Easy Target and All of This

I like all the blink singles and can listen to all of them, minus I Miss You. Easily my least favorite and one I only listen to in an album context.

When it comes to seeing them live though I would prefer over songs over some of them due to wanting to hear different song a live rather than always the same ones.

    Die rad.

I could go the rest of my life without hearing all the small things, first date, and Rockshow.

I just wish they cared enough to really branch out for their setlists.

I just see what Green Day’s setlists look like and get sad. Green Day will pull some deep tracks out of nowhere, vary that setlist up often, and deliver. Hell, at like Reading (when major festivals are made for playing your mega singles) they played Dookie in its entirety.

For blink now it’s obviously tough since Matt would have to learn the deeper cuts, but I would argue their setlists with Matt had more deeper cuts than with Tom lol.

Was listening to Steele Saunder’s Star Wars hyperchat show (SW fan here if you can’t tell) and he mentioned how he was the first person in Australia to interview Blink back during the Cheshire Cat days (that initial tour w/ Pennywise). He said how Mark bought all the Leia figures from a collectibles store they stopped at and then proceeded to play pretend with the Leia figures by having them kiss. Very cringeworthy and very on brand for 90’s Blink. Blink apparently played A New Hope for the first time on that tour as well.

  14. 1) The end of Apple Shampoo:

    "And now I realize
I should have kissed you in L.A.
But I drove home all alone
As if I had a choice, anyway
    Where are you coming from?
    What are you running from?
Is it so hard to see?
    And if you're feeling scared
    Remember the time we shared
You know it meant everything (everything)
You know that it meant everything to me
You know that it meant everything to me"

    2) When the beginning of Anthem ends and Travis comes in HOT (0:56):

    3) The best part of Every Time I Look For You:

    4) This part of Asthenia:

    5) The opening to Cynical because it was so awesome hearing that the first time

I think one of my fav blink moments is the intro to Los Angeles. Never heard such a cool intro from them. Plus first time I heard it was on a flight touching down at LAX which was really cool

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I still think the bridge to Time to Break Up is one of Tom's finest moments

One of my favorite moments is Mark and Tom harmonizing “This is where I belong” in Pathetic. Same goes for the live version when they add the extra “belong.”

Not that I ever need to hear a NaNa ever again from this band, I always LOVED them in Online Songs.

I’ll also add, the bridge to Bored to Death is a top moment on that album.

Favorite early Blink moment is Tom's first vocal in Enthused "am I strung out, crazy or not allowed..."

Mid-era would probably still have to be Tom's "fate fell short this time..." part in the Feeling This

And re-union onward is definetly "WHATS THE POINT OF SAYIN SORRY NOW"

    Ending of Feeling This

The super deep 808 hit in "Obvious"

Every Mark/Tom dual vocal song from Dude Ranch through Untitled

Bridge in Everytime I Look For You

The piano in the outro of I Miss You as the song fades and the piano line varies a little bit as you start to be unable to hear it

Basically all of Cynical, but especially the contrast in Mark's quiet, solo intro and the full band outro with Matt's yelling refrain

The extended/extra bridge riffs Tom throws in on the Mark Tom and Travis Show version of Peggy Sue

the a capella "nother boring sto-ho-ry" on "enthused"

A lot of their final choruses. Particularly when Jerry Finn and Travis came along, their songs just explode in their last choruses. I know everyone's been bagging on "All the Small Things" but that final chorus is gigantic with all the pieces of the hook coming together with added layers, plus "Feeling This", obviously, "Adam's Song", "What's My Age Again", they got really good at it. There's such life to the layers of blink songs on Enema, TOYPAJ, and untitled (plus BCR and +44), and I miss that a lot on California/Deluxe.

the synths and electronic drums on "always"

Matt Skiba doing untitled songs live is also one of my fondest live blink memories. I remember him killing "I Miss You", "Violence", and "Down".

Again I know people rag on it but I actually have always been really drawn to "Down", it's a very good mood piece for that era's earnest romantic angst and I love the hip hop beat travis does, particularly in the outro with that piano loop and the shakers.
