This all honestly feels like an RPG when the main storyline gets overshadowed by various side quests that are related to the storyline but takes you in all kinds of other directions.

I feel like such a failure and am so ashamed of myself right now. I let everyone around me down and I let myself down. I’m sorry to anyone I’ve been aggressive toward in the past month. There’s no excuse and I’m really sorry and full of regret.

Don't feel like a failure...addiction is a constant struggle and it's hard to fight a constant struggle. You already know that, so don't tell yourself any differently now just because you fell off again. It's only a failure when you let it win. Don't let it win. You can get clean again and you will, just keep fighting the fight. You will get to where you want to be again.

Seriously, don't sweat it. Everyone here has pissed off other posters by being snarky or a smartass or whatever, so knowing what you've got going on IRL, there's certainly no way I'd be holding it against you at this point for getting mad at me during one of those snarky times of mine haha.

Just worry about you and your health, don't let the little worries like us folks here add to your stresses!

 

I have a friend going through something similar and I’ll kind of tell you what I told him: Don’t feel ashamed about what happened because the most important thing to everyone around you is that you’re still here. And because you’re still here means you can get back to working on yourself and hopefully forgiving yourself and moving forward.

I don’t know you personally (You’re a fellow Missourian, right?) but I appreciate your humor and what you add to the forums.

 

Community here definitely has your back. You're gonna get through this and if there is any way we can help just let us know

 

thanks for this, it really helps. yeah i lived in the suburbs of st louis my whole life until a year and a half ago when i moved to philly. i love where im from and i miss it every day but i know at this point if i were to be forced to move back home id just relapse there too since that's where my addiction started in the first place. still, living this far from my family is hard sometimes. thankfully i have the most wonderful girlfriend a person could ever ask for and i consider her not only my family but my best friend in the entire world. she's helped me through this without an ounce of anger, just sadness for the pain i feel that leads me to use. i really would be so lost without her and im making sure she knows that every single day from here on out.

 

Did anyone ever hear anything from Dom? I remember someone asking about them a little while ago
