Guys, they're not announcing their break-up via the medium of t-shirt. It's very obviously just a reference to the "stay eighteen forever" lyric. I'm guessing they're definitely playing on fans taking it literally, and maybe that's half the reason they've actually put it out, for a bit of a joke. Just sit back and take a minute to really think about it haha. Announcing their break up via a t-shirt with the date of the break-up also being a reference to one of the most well known Brand New lyrics. No. Just no.

 

I don't really believe they'll ever be done done. They might call it quits for years, then come back for a tour, maybe an ep or album here or there, etc.

But mostly I'm just devastated that my favorite band decided to announce their breakup five minutes before I have to go to work.

FWIW it wasn't just a shirt, that was a huge overlay they put up on stage after their set.

 

I mean, it's not that cryptic ... they're calling it quits in April of 2018, seems kinda obvious now. Probably Easter Sunday ... cause why not go full ego.

 

If this is the way they end, I don't think I'll be that upset. A clever nod to Soco, leaving their legacy in a totally Brand New trolling style way. I think it's funny and if it's true I'm sure they think it's hilarious to cap it off this way.

They are older now and this could be their celebratory way of ending it. Daisy even had some suggestive swan song lyrics. I won't be surprised is what I'm saying

"Refering to the shirt on the left, the letters are Jewish for the word, Abrahadabra. The numerology significance of the word is 418, which they mysteriously had labeled on their Leaked Demos album. The word means Beast and referred as the phrase, "A Great Work Accomplished." My theory is that they are soon laying 'this beast to rest' (Mene) aka their band, and the end of their band and all that they have done is their 'great work accomplished'."

Nah. Two shirts, one huge backdrop, one sticker that literally says RIP Brand New 2018, and multiple 4/18 references ... it's enough to draw some pretty basic conclusions. I'm calling end of the band.

 

Clearly we're getting two more songs (in May 2017 and 2018), then theyre going to release those two plus mene, sealed, and nightmare on Dec. 31, 2018 as the Resurection EP.. Then they fall off the face of the planet..

 

Underoaoth and Anberlin basically did the same thing. It's all the rage.

 

Easter 2018 is april fools day so we're all good

The Abrahadabra/418 stuff, eighteen forever, April Fools/ Easter of 2018. Fucking a, man. Not even mad. I think all of this is exciting and curated pretty well on their part

 

Maybe it's not an upside down cross but it's flower penis. Kinda phallic. Goes with the POWER POINT V of the other shirt. RIGHT I mean!!! THEYRE SO CRYPTIC. They're like that radioheaderrr band the kids like. I bet pitchfork gives it BNm. Cause brand new music right.
