The trailer concerned me and made me think the story wouldn’t flow well for whatever reason. I was very pleased with it. I also didn’t know until about 15 minutes prior to watching it that it was shot on iPhones. You can definitely tell but it never really took me out of the experience.

I didn't know that, that explains some of the texture that I seen in the trailer which was partly my concern; I thought that it was pretty cladly shot but now I know there is actually a reason for that. I'll watch it at some point but I don't see any rush to do so just yet.

The "shot on an iphone" gimmick is very misleading.
The movie doesn't really look like it was all shot on phone.

They're using an iphone camera, sure, but with a buttload of additional major movie production equipment.
Like cinematic lenses and gimbals and all that fun stuff.

Has anyone caught Unfriended: Dark Web yet?

Excited to see it, Unfriended was fun for what it was but i'm put off by the multi-ending idea.

  6. Claire Foy was good in Unsane, and I enjoyed it enough for what it was, but I don't think I'd call it a good movie.

I completely forgot about that and I had only heard about it on this site. I saw it and I thought it was good but I have a pretty low bar so I wanted to see what others thought on here!

Me, and the wife are about to watch 47 Meters Down. We enjoyed The Shallows for what it was so hopefully this will be fun.

Also The Meg looks dope. I’m a sucker for aquatic monster movies.

Dark Web was a bit of a dissapointment. I would like to think it was partially due to the dozen or so teenage boys and girls that wouldn't stop talking and were about to be straight murdered by my wife.

Normally I’m not against trailers, but the one for Dark Web really seemed like it gave away the absolute entire film. I don’t really have any interest in paying for it after knowing most major plot points.

    Doing fine. Prestigious

I’m really curious about Dark Web. I think the reason why I enjoyed Unfriended so much was because the format of the film being from the perspective of one computer screen was surprisingly effective. I’m wondering if it will be as good for me or if it’ll end up just being a gimmick that was a one off for me.

  13. My girlfriend wanted to see Dark Web so we both went a couple days ago. I hadn't even seen a trailer about it so I was pretty shocked that she even knew about it, haha. I didn't know it was a sequel until just now too... haha. Didn't see the first one... But yeah, it was ok. There were some creepy parts. It was alright. I hated how the cameras would start glitching out whenever the bad guys were on screen. That took me out of it every time. I thought it was kind of interesting though how the whole movie was made to look like it was all on the computer screen. But yeah, it was a dumb but kinda fun scary movie. Reminded me of something you'd see and pass by in a Redbox.

Same...Ever see the first V/H/S? It reminded me so much of the stupid "glitch" in Tuesday the 17th (which was by far my least favorite segment from either of the first two movies).

Dark Web was meh. Nothing great, but a good MoviePass viewing. After reading about the alternate ending, I think I definitely got the lamer ending.

feel free to spoiler tag a response, but are the endings essentially the same just with a different way of getting there or are they completely opposite from each other?

The outcomes are similar but have a few differences. Don't wanna say too much to spoil the endings.

If anyone wants to know what both endings are, the Wikipedia page has both of them.

Saw Unfriended: Dark Web last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. I remember thinking the first one was fine but I’m glad they ditched the supernatural aspect in this one. This movie just felt so mean and dark, in regards to the characters. The fact that this was grounded in reality made it that more fucked up.

We definitely got the “lame” ending though imo. The alternate ending fits the tone of the movie so much more

Just watched Creep for the first time. Incredibly predictable but still enjoyable. Wasn’t all that scared or on the edge of my seat or anything, but Duplass plays a good villain who is fun to watch. I’m not huge on found-footage although this was cleverly done. I think my favorite part was when the visuals cut and we hear the story of his wife’s animal fetish. I obviously haven’t seen 2 yet but I’ll get to it eventually.

Creep 2 is a super interesting horror sequel. I like the places it goes, even if a lot of the mystery is revealed in the first one. I think that makes the original scarier, but the second one is still wild and actually pretty funny in parts.

Has anyone seen the Secret of Marrowbone yet? Looks pretty chilling but I'm not sold on it as yet.

Wow, I've never even heard of this until now?? As a fan of horror, gothic lit, and ATJ, this looks like something I'd absolutely enjoy (even if the reviews don't make it seem like an objectively stellar film.)

I feel horror film reviews are rarely appetising but it looked good and I've always been a fan of those "type" of horrors. Might see if this weekend and report back.

Is it currently in theaters? Can't tell if I should be looking to stream or go see it, but it's not bringing up showtimes when I google.
