Clutch doing The Elephant Riders for it's 20th would be awesome, but I doubt it'll happen.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I’m hoping Spitalfield plays Better Than Knowing Where You Are. The lineup that recorded that album is apparently the one playing Riot Fest.

Plus they already did Remember Right Now and Stop Doing Bad Things shows in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

Unless there's shows planned around it already, I'm always doubtful that any of the larger headlining acts would perform a full album (Blink-182, Elvis Costello, Blondie). I think the only exception to this would have been Weezer in 2014 (the same year they had Jane's Addiction and the Offspring doing records--but they were touring those albums anyway, if I remember correctly).

I'm not ruling it out completely. I just don't think it's gonna happen... I'd love to see Costello do This Year's Model, though.

im hoping Cypress Hill, Bouncing Souls, and Beck are not involved in album plays. All 3 are on my the top of my "i FINALLY get to see them" list, that id rather a little of everything from them. Like, i love Anchors Aweigh, but id be sad if i didnt get any hopeless romatnic or summer vacation.

yea i doubt Blondie is involved, especially if that leaked/accidently posted version of the poster that listed them as "final chicago show" turns out to be true, but who knows!?! (well, we all will in 24 hours! haha)

I don't think the Bouncing Souls or Beck will be doing an album. Beck, for the reason that I highlighted previously, and the Bouncing Souls just because I don't know that Anchors Aweigh would be "iconic enough" or whatever for the list.

If anything from them, it would be either HISMSV or Hopeless Romantic. But I don't think that's happening.

Cypress Hill, though, you might be fucked. Haha. They've said this upcoming tour is going to be heavy on Black Sunday in honor of that record's 25th anniversary. I can imagine they'll be doing the full record at Riot Fest... FWIW? That's a banger of a record!

I heard a rumor from a super secret source that I can't divulge but who knows things about things from a person who also knows things but I can't even hint about who they are that the 2019 festival will be headlined by Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and Fugazi. Also? They'll be adding a comedy stage. And a rave tent. And a kids music stage.

Passes are for sale through November for $99! Get on it or get ripped off by Riot "Corporate Sellout" Fest!

Let's go Reddit! Post this as a confirmed rumor!

Would actually love a comedy stage at Riot Fest.

It's great at something like Boston Calling where I only want to see like, 25% of the artists and need to fill time. At something like Riot Fest where I want to see a solid number of bands each day? I probably wouldn't bother with the comedy.

I always pay attention to the comedy clubs each year to see if Doug Benson works a Doug Loves Movies taping in around the festival, though, if there's bands he's friends with on the bill. Hah.

I'll be there in the front no matter what, but i imagined a cypress hill show would be incomplete without Dr. Greenthumb or Throw your set in the air. haha, if they do the album play, fingers crossed for a quick 2-4 song encore of other hits!

Give me Patton Oswalt at Riot Fest. I need that in my life.

Would also need Kyle Kinane. Saw him perform once, then the same night Agent Orange was playing at another venue and i raced over there. 30-45 mins in, Lo and behold, i notice im standing next to Kyle Kinane who apparently had the same idea!

Kyle Kinane was super funny and super nice when I saw him earlier this year.

I’d like to predict Nada Surf as a 2nd wave announcement band, and that they’ll play a Let Go anniversary set

You think they're going to be one of the full album artists though? Is This Thing Cursed? releases two weeks prior.

1998, but I'd love that set.

    Edit: Yeah!

Oh, I've been to Fest. I went every year for four years from 2009-2012. It got too stressful after that, so I haven't been since but... I definitely saw Kyle Kinane there twice.

And the first time he was there? I remember walking with him and a bunch of other people from his show to get over to the Venue for Teenage Bottlerocket and (if memory serves) Less Than Jake. He sang along real loudly to "Bloodbath at Burger King."

Same opinions here. I went each year I was living in Gainesville (2010 - 2013) but now, I just don't know if I'm up for the literal non-stop PBR drinking until 5am. Also, definitely wouldn't want to go if I don't have my own bed to come home to each night haha.

    Edit:
    I'm boring now.

No I don't think so but I also think they will do the official release show at Metro or something that weekend as an aftershow so who knows

I still understand the appeal of it for some people, and it makes me so happy that it exists. But it became an exercise in: Do I want to see Band X that I've already seen 10 times but fucking love, Band Y who is a buzz band with one great EP who doesn't tour very often but they're playing a tiny venue that will probably have a massive line so I'd have to miss Band X who is playing three hours before to be sure I got into the venue, and Band Z who hasn't played a US show in 10 years.

I much prefer something like Riot Fest (or Wrecking Ball; RIP?) where switching between stages and choosing between bands is a bit less stressful.

Are we expecting a normal 11/12 timeframe today or a shitty 8pm timeframe

I'm hoping for 11am EST. Especially since they said they're apparently shutting the office down early to go see Taking Back Sunday, haha.

Just full album sets according to that e-mail. I'm guessing there's going to be 1-2 "????" sets on there, though.
