That's what I thought to about it just be motivational until I started hearing about others being "released".

I've never been written up before.

 

Mainly I think he's already decided to do it.

I don't know how to stop that now. A asked a friend to give me some recognition and somebody else on the team to put in a good word but I don't know.

I kind of like what I'm doing right now and want to keep doing that I just really want a different manager.

 

I hate when people try to don”one-upping” stories, so please don’t take this as that.

I spent all of last year thinking that my principal would let me go. I was on a PIP (professional improvement plan) because in the previous year (which was my first ever as a teacher) my kids got less-than-stellar test scores. She came into my classroom about 1-2 times a week, unannounced, and would take notes and talk to my kids. At the end of each month I’d have to meet with her and endured a lot of very harsh criticism.

I went through a crazy depressed year with a feeling of worthlessness and expecting to not be asked back, or worse, fired mid-year since I wasn’t on a guaranteed year-long contract.

I finally started seeing a change in the spring and got in contact with a teaching coach from the county, and she would look over my plans and observe me teach and I got nothing but positive responses from her. She ended up telling me after a few weeks that my boss is known for nitpicking things about teachers and being hyper-critical as it is her management style.

It fucking sucks having bosses like this because I’m naturally very paranoid, suspicious, and have issues trusting people, so it has turned me off to working there so much. I love the team I work with there and am so comfortable with my position in every other regard, but working under my principal is a daily struggle for me because she has just dug herself so deep into the part of my brain that establishes my self-worth and is just ripping apart the wiring.

I think because I ripped out some bushes in front of my house and disturbed their colony.

I left them poisonfood to make up for it.

 

I feel old because I realized today that I started high school 8 years ago.

Luckily I don’t look very old. Most people at work think I’m 18 or 19, which is good because a lot of people I went to school with aged like milk.

 

We get gnats in our house just about every day from the nearby lake, but we have figured out the perfect way to kill comfort them. My wife always makes herself a cup of coffee in the morning, and she is notorious for not finishing it and leaving it out. I used to clean it up each morning, but I started discovering that there were always a couple gnats floating in there. Now I intentionally leave it out all morning so that the gnats will drown bathe themselves and make my life slightly less annoying.

 

They turned into cheese!? Damn

Good luck today man. Sorry i never got back to you yesterday after you replied but i know like with my job i would need to have written someone up a few times and have documentation of errors/behavior/remediation before i could even talk to my boss about firing anyone. If you've never been written up i would think you would be okay. I hope you can get everything sorted with hr and work with a new manager, especially if you like what you're doing and where you're at.

 

Yeah you shouldn’t have anything to worry about if you haven’t been written up, unless Texas is an at will state
