I really appreciate what Naughty Dog has done with their last 2 games in regards to inclusion of POC, LGBT, and women. The player characters have still been white straight males but I hope (and would bet) that changes with their next game.

 

They actually went and deliberately changed a few characters in UC4 too, and made them women when they were originally intended to be men. (Spoilers in the article if you haven't finished it)

Uncharted 4 Focus Tester Dismissed Because of Sexism


People in the focus testing actually got mad about it and stormed out, which would be borderline unbelievable if it were anything but gaming.

 

I saw that! It makes me glad.

Dude who stormed out sounds ridiculous though.

 

I've played 7 games of Overwatch, so far. And I am really enjoying it. I can't wait to try out all the heroes.

 

Even the DOOM credits were cool. Especially the final homage to the original Doom artwork.

If you look at their photos, almost every comment is some variant of Skate 4 lol.

 

Meh, I never got into the Skate series.

 

I never played them. but it seems like they have a vocal fanbase.

 

The fall damage in Witcher 3 is fucking ridiculous. 80% of my deaths are from falling off a ledge or ladder that's about 10ft high. I know they patched it but it's still the worst thing in the game.

Also just finished Hearts of Stone. Very 'meh' in comparison to the main game. Hoping for more from Blood and Wine.

 

The original skate. was awesome. Skate. 2 was kind of whack because it was the same locale except shittier.

 

I find that playing defense has been crazy frustrating the last few years. If you control the man defending the dribbler they can just run right past you about 75% of the time. The response time is delayed...I know I wasn't this bad before and I've been playing since the first NBA2k.

 

I was wondering if I was the only one dealing with that haha

 

Good I'm glad. I want Skate 4 so fucking bad.

 

There looks to be enough content in The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC to make an entire separate game. Only 2 hours in and got an exploding quest log again. Really great job by CDPR. The new area is really nice.

 

thankfully he's "only" got ~20 upvotes and has since been dwarfed by mostly not shitty comments and perspectives (although there's still the "i nobly tolerate their intolerance" sigh) but yah just another coin in my tip jar that says "fuck the gaming community." ive said before and i'll say again that i refuse to consider myself a part of it anymore, either bc i'm not welcome and also bc many people i care about aren't welcome and also bc it's cancerous haha.

that said, r/gamerghazi is a wonderful haven as well as, amusingly enough, r/gamingcirclejerk.

 

Just had to look up r/gamergahzi, looks like a breath of sanity in the bogs that comprise the gaming subreddits.

 

I'm kind of excited to play NBA2K16 now that it's free.

 

Same. I can't ever justify paying $60 every single year for sports games that aren't much different from the previous iteration, but I'll definitely put some time into it now that it's free.
