I put Spider-Gwen down because I got bored with it. I love the premise, but it isn't doing much for me.

I kinda wish Silk would stick with one artist.

  2. Spider-Gwen has amazing art and a decent storyline imo.

I don't even care about one artist if the artists are good. Stacy Lee is great, and Veronica Fish was a decent fill-in before being snatched up by Archie, but I straight-up hate Tana Ford's work on the title. It's depressing.

Lee's art is my favorite of the bunch. trade #1 (not 0) has he on issue one and four. The rest is just kinda okay. I haven't read it yet, but seeing it jump around so much is off putting to me.

Reading Batman: The Black Hand right now. I'm not a big fan of the Batman: Incorporated cast, but I'm loving this book so far. Really great stuff. Might go back and read B:I v1 now that I have some more context to the characters.

Yeah, I'm actually dropping the title now that the (disappointing) Spider-Women event is over, which sucks when I think about how much I was thrilled by it just a year ago.

I don't know if Annie Wu has plans post-Black Canary (maybe she'll do something creator-owned), but if she's available, I would LOVE if she did Silk. Then, if she needs fill ins, have Stacy Lee return for those issues. The character deserves more than she's getting now. (If you're reading this, Ford, sorry; I'm sure you're a cool person. lol.)

Kingdom Come would probably be the first one I suggest. Final Crisis next. Identity Crisis . . . if you feel like you really have to.

Identity Crisis is a book that gets a lot of (justified) grief. Honestly, Identity Crisis has more to do with the grim and dark tone of the current DC Universe than Watchmen does.

The SILK book was great. I haven't read anything post-Secret Wars because Marvel Unlimited hasn't caught up yet, but man was that first trade special. It is a shame it got overlooked because of Ms. Marvel. I think Silk belongs right up there in that conversation.

Thanks! I think Identity Crisis was one of the first books I had ordered and just never got around to. Although, I have a lot to read clearly. I'll start Kingdom Come after I finish up the Batman run, which I have 4 trades left to get through since I read Vol. 8 first then bought the rest hah.

It is funny, because Identity Crisis #1 was the first floppy I ever bought. And at the time, I loved the book because I was youthful and loved the dark and grim stuff.

How the times have changed haha.

I enjoy Meltzer's writing style I just really didn't enjoy Identity Crisis at all.

The Black Hand was probably my favorite of the RIP storyline.

I am very much in the same boat.

I like Meltzer quite a bit. I was one of the few who enjoyed his JLA stint. I thought he wrote a great Red Tornado.

I think IC is the only thing I've read of his, is his JLA run pretty accessible to new readers?

Yeah, it was the first issue of a relaunched JLA. As far as I can remember, it was pretty straightforward from a continuity perspective. It basically amounts to the trinity trying to put together a new JLA. It didn't last long, maybe 12 issues total.

The one thing I want out of DC is a Stargirl solo book.

I haven't read the actual issue, but I was happy to see snippets of the Green Arrow Rebirth issue where he embraces the Social Justice Warrior label. That is the Green Arrow I want.

And he has the mustache and goatee!

I have a laundry list of things I want haha. Just to name a few:

    -A new Legion book
    -JSA book
-A Teen Titans book that doesn't make me want to stab my eyeballs
    -New Gods book
    -Captain Marvel & family

If they made a Poison Ivy ongoing with Amy Chu sticking on but a better artist, I'd immediately pull it. She's actually pretty interesting apart from Batman and Harley as an antihero scientist evironmentalist protector. Her mini has been selling better than some of the books going twice a month, lol.

So, yeah, if I could get anything from Rebirth, it'd be that.

I absolutely love her as an advocate for the Green. Any time she is together with Swamps is pretty great.

Did you read any of the Bird of Prey book that had her? Really enjoyed that.

  24. I would LOVE a New Gods book. Been meaning to get into them but I never know where to start. Any recs?

Honestly, starting at the beginning might be your best bet. The whole Fourth World Saga by Jack Kirby is just fantastic. Some people might be turned off because it was the 1970s and comics were a lot different then. But it is such a great time, IMO. And it is the unique vision of the king of comics. That can't be undersold.

Also, Final Crisis plays with the New Gods quite a bit. And the last Justice League arc by Geoff Johns featured some New Gods pretty heavily.
