    "I'll chew on a dog!"

The pairing of your avatar and the lyric underneath it make me crack up every time I see it.

I'm back-and-forth on that tbh. I don't really want to sing along to stuff that Trump has said, and while I get the premise of the song, at this point the lyrics seem kind of clickbait-y... it reads as if he was surprised that the "Car-Crashian" lyric wasn't foregrounded on their last album and decided to make it more unmissable this time around. Guess we'll wait and see how the song goes (obviously).

Couldn’t disagree more but that’s become kind of par for the course I suppose

Of all these ridiculous lyrics, the ones you have the most trouble with are things Trump said to Kanye West? Lol, I love the Trump effect.

Yeah I do not get the constant backlash of even referencing Trump, especially when the lyrics are there to mock him not praise him.

it really doesnt seem that ridiculous to not want to sing along to the words "i moved on her like a bitch" regardless of context /shrug

not saying the lyrics are bad, and we dont know if that will even be a sing along part, but seems perfectly normal to have reservations given these are indeed the lyrics.

I’m just saying when you have choices such as “suffocate the black men” or “masturbation immigration liberal kitsch kneeling on a pitch”, to then say that the lyrics you will have the hardest time singing along to is “thank you Kanye, very cool” or “I moved on her like a bitch”...just a bit silly

seems natural quotes that are recognizable would stick out to someone first upon scanning the lyrics

This trainwreck of a president currently takes up an extremely large amount of my mental/psychic energy. You think it's weird that maybe I also don't want to think about him when I'm enjoying my favorite band?

every time I've seen matthew comment on 45 it's been v misguided and tone deaf so I think it's justifiable to be wary of this

Writing a song that makes fans feel uncomfortable while they sing along seems perfectly on-brand for these guys.

i really dislike when tr*mp appears in any pop culture i enjoy (this happened during the recent season of kimmy schmidt, and thematically it was seamless and really well-integrated and smartly done and yet i still had the moment of "fuck this i don't wanna see this guy or hear him speak or know what he's saying") but also it feels honest in terms of analyzing the moment which is i guess matty's big lyrical project on this record given "give yourself a try" and this. (even beyond the quote those lyrics are A LOT.) i'm upset and curious, if that makes sense

its fine for artists to write about trump, and reference him, im just saying i understand why people dont want to sing along to shit he's said. context in the song will matter of course.
